Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Just read Poyet hopeful that Borini is finally going to agree on personal terms and could be unveiled as a Sunderland player in the next few days.

Oh boy, hope Lambert finds his goal scoring confidence pronto!

The transfers names linked to Liverpool are getting more and more ridiculous.

honestly, i would feel quite disappointed if Pool signs Eto as a 'last resort' or as a 'desperate measure'. i mean, they have enough time to source for a striker. Im sure before World Cup, they may already know (or sense) Suarez' desire to leave. but why it's so difficult for us to lure a marquee striker remains a BIG question mark.

i dun really like the idea of havin 2 'senior citizens' in Lambert n Eto in the team. true, Eto can bring his wealth of experience to the team n mentor the younger players. if Lambert wasnt signed, then I'd quite like the idea of Eto comin in to tide us thru at least til the next transfer window. but im not sure if both players would struggle if they are asked to play 70 mins week in week. as some bros mentioned, Sturridge is injury proned n we could be in trouble if he's out on a lengthy spell.

if only Origi could play for us this season, that would have been the ideal solution to these temporary worries.

Ok, maybe just rumors to boost up magazines sales
but, to quadruple his wages (if it is true), he needs to work his socks up rather than falling down so often (ok he is small size).

Tomorrow EPL starts..damn excited..my MIO tv going to be rusty liao

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Confirmed Martin Kelly has signed for Crystal Palace. Also just read Palace manager Tony Pulis has just quit the club due to fall out with management over transfers!

Oh and Reds still looking for a replacement for Suarez. Further on Suarez, CAS has upheld his 4 month ban but now allow him to train at Barca. Peter Scudamore, ceo of the EPL, quoted as saying he is glad to see the back of Suarez from the EPL, as he felt notwithstanding Suarez's talent, there was always another accident waiting to happen with him.

Based on last season's performance, yes I think he justifies a pay rise.

The pay rise may be a steep one but in modern day football, which footballers are paid astronomical wages, if u dun pay Raheem 'market rate' other suitors might snatch him away.

sterling is a young guy and room for improvement...he went thru liverpool route to stardom...maybe he can be a good striker in future...nobody gave Cristiano Ronaldo much interest till SAF made him a star and he went on to be winner of Ballon d'Or...

the pundits this year again dun rate Liverpool highly...this is good becos hope the expectation is not high...

Coz of RVG and suddenly those scum fans started to have fantasy again! Lol! The way I look at it, he doesn't have much say in the team if not how on earth would he made that gooney become their captain? That botak should be sold la! Paying him 200k a week is like throwing money into the drain!

Raheem Sterling was a product of Crystal Palace's youth development programme.... he did not come up through the Liverpool FC age groups. His breakout year was playing for CP in the U-17 age group tournament where he was spotted by scouts from Man U, Spurs, Arsenal & Liverpool...... we were lucky he choose Liverpool over all the other clubs and spent a year at the LFC Academy before BR gave him his big break.

He has the potential to be a World Class footballer..... hope he doesn't get too big headed and get distracted and lose his way like George Best.

In modern football, only a handful is like our faithful, SG. As long as a club is willing to pay significantly higher in salary, chances of him going is high. RM or Barca will not hesitate to pay 300k per week for a good player.

According to Phil Thompson, the Reds had an opportunity to buy the young Cristiano Ronaldo, but Houllier and the management were not prepared to risk £13m on an unproven 17 year old talent, Fergie then spotted him when United played Sporting and the rest as they say is history.

Back to the present, apart from Sterling, it appears that new signing Lazar Markovic may have great promise, some pundits even liken him to be the next Messi?! Well let's hope that this pans to some extent at least.

buying young players are all big gamble...but when one became a superstar and helped the club then is all worth every penny...

promising young players in the past had come and go...only a few make it...some good examples...Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard, David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, etc...many had flopped too...
