All bro's... any time touts stop you in the airport, just look straight and don't entertain them. If you're here for business and staying in any of the 5 star hotels, arrange for hotel transport. It's not that much more and give you more peace of mind. If not, just hop onto the taxi's queing outside the arrival hall, or do like me... I go up to the 2nd floor (departure), and wait for either a Hanoi taxi or Mai Linh taxi to drop someone. Since they are not allowed to queue downstairs, they are quite happy to be able to earn a fare back into town. Negotiate... anything below 250K is a good deal.

Just to add a note for those priviledged travellers staying in 5-stars hotel..if expenses paid by company then just book like what TP says, but if not, then take note that some hotels send their own Limo and charge you up to US$65 just to pick you up at airport and send you to hotel. So be informed...

Just catching up with the night life in Hanoi. My last visit to this great city was in 2000. I am sure things would have changed since. Need some advice from Anhs (bros).
i) is the night club/disco at the basement of Fortune Hotel in Lang Ha street still existing? It used to have pretty syt. Is this still as good or better?
ii) another place is the night club at Hanoi Hotel. Has this place changed?
iii) Queen Bee - not my favourite though.
Any new places or recommendations from bros are most welcome.
I am visit Hanoi next week.

Looks like the Hanoi Airport is pretty far from the city centre huh?

Fortuna and Hanoi still doing a roaring trade, a bit too roaring in fact. They are quite stuckup nowadays. Better to stick to the local KTVs. 139 Bui Thi Xuan is always a winner, or go to the end of Lien Tri.
Never heard of Queen Bee... can't be any help there.

Noi Bai taxi's queue outside the arrival hall. Once you clear customs make your way directly out the exit door, cross the road running parralel to the door. Do not even bother talking to the other swarms of people offering you a ride into Hanoi, just head straight out and cross the first road. There is normally a female supervisor who can speak English. They charge fixed cost from the airport to central Hanoi for 220,000 vnd ($12.50 USD). You will never have a problem with these taxi's. They are available all day, but they can be scarce after 10.30pm for late arrivals.

For transfer from Hanoi back to the airport, call Noi Bai taxis 0438868888 the night before and book your car to pick you up. Any where central Hanoi to the airport will cost 180,000 vnd ($10.30 USD). You can confirm this on the phone with them as they speak decent english. Use this company and you will never have an issue.

Landed in Hanoi safe and sound. Thanks to Bro deptrai4u- Minister of Tourism of Hanoi for taking his precious time out of his busy schedule to show us around and the arrangements he made.

Have covered most of the interesting landmarks in Hanoi. Seeing a lot of pretties and beauties on streets here. No wonder no matter what, so many bros want to come here.

Here the traffic is very chaotic.

After good dinner, local + tourism food, yum-yum, then we went for a drink. The place we went to is Relax 2. The girls there are quite pretty. I have seen some Fiona Xie (as highlighted by bro deptrai4), Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan actress look alike girls in this place. Overall it is a nice place to chill out and to mingle with local girls (even though those girls are working there to accompany customers to drink). Well, not much of hanky-panky here (as it is not allowed and no ta-bao), but it is an eye-opener the standards of girls here. And I was the one who get molested by at least 4-5 girls there! (Next time must really bring a molest-proof vest there! )

Night was ended with local delights. Stay tune for more FRs.....

Thank you Bro deptrai for introducing us the Cha ca la vong for Dinner!
Relax 2 was real fun! Pretty and Young playful chicks all around.

10th Feb
We meet up in Restaurant Ngon (Vietnamese street food joint) for dinner, nice food, nice atmosphere.
Then adjourn on to local Karaoke in Lien Tri! Fantabulous plan! We had fun!
