How old was the stroke patient...he must had suffered aneurysm stroke which require operation to stop bleeding of the burst vessel in the brain...very similar to Minister HSK...

think he did not notice the symptoms or ignore all the pre-symptoms of a stroke imminent...

With travel insurance, you still need to pay first and claim later...claim depends on the amount and full sets of hospital bills...claim can wait long...

Everywhere if no money wait to die loh...in sinkieland they operate first but still need to pay...the hospitalisation bill can cost a huge bomb...

Like me, he's around 60yrs old. Actually one day before he got stroke, we were sitting together and he say he not feeling well n we already notice he sweating. But he never mention he got heart problem so we didn't take this sweating v seriously. So I went to pharmacy at the lion circle and bought aspirin for him n after taking he say feel slightly better.

So at night after we had seafood dinner by the orchaelteau beach, we went back hotel and then into the casino. At around 10pm, suddenly he got stroke inside d casino.

Naemlo was right, so finally from Sihanouk, the ambulance sent him to "Royal phnom penh hospital", very new, big and clean hospital but not much patient. So he was attended by the best surgeon on duty that early morning around 3 to 4 am. He's a Thai surgeon but they say that he is the best surgeon.
This surgeon perform a test on him by using a sharp object to scratch both the sole of his feet and its confirmed he was half paralysed.

After the hospital received the usd6k , they immediately operate on his head. And he was so lucky, within 48 hrs after his operation, he recovered.
Although he recovered, doctor advice him cannot take plane because theres still air bubbles in his brain and so he continue stay in hospital until he was fit to fly home.

So from here, I learnt that if we can afford, we shld buy insurance to cover.

firstly, dont believe insurance in cambodia, chances are you cant claim much back if anything at all.

secondly, if you are in any kind of accident or emergency, if there are people around, for sure you will reach "first aid" type hospital (meaning standard only good for first aid) becoz the caller can get commission from the "hospital"

thirdly dress "rich enough" that people will help you (i.e. call hospital, tiger balm etc) but not "rich enough" that you kana rob

This chap is lucky he has good frens who knew what to do...he has you and others in companion to thank...

Take it that he has 2nd life...

The aspirin certainly help...he should continue to take every 4 hours and things may change...but then agian gambling pumps the heart fast with anxiety which is bad for heart...

How about buying these travel insurance from spore NTUC etc.

Yes, when we sent my friend who got stroke ,to a sihanok hospital which is not a hospital, it was the people inside that arrange for us to go Royal phnom penh hospital. We don't know any hospital. So they sent us to the best and most expensive hospital, and I guess they must hv got quite a good commission. Anyway, d operation was done so successfully and there's no regrets. The family was soooo happy that he recovered so quickly.

At least they operate u first... in some countries, they let u wait to die. They will start work only if they see the money.

Frankly, he was lucky to be brought there. If other hospital, he might now be handicapped or return IC. Stoke is not a minor problem.

Yes, if alone, guess now he is kept in the box. If no one comes, identifies and claims the body... it will be mass burnt.
