Countdown 2013 @ Genting Highlands

GENTING HIGHLANDS: HEAD to Resorts World Genting on New Year's Eve with your loved ones as the resort has prepared a list of exciting activities to usher in 2013.
Have a great time at the Genting Outdoor Theme Park with your family and friends as you countdown to the new year.

Entry to the Genting Outdoor Theme Park will be free from 10pm on Dec 31.

Stage performances are taking place at the Merdeka Stage.

It will be followed by a fireworks show, subject to weather conditions. If it is postponed, the event will take place at 8pm on the following day.

You can also put on your party hat and get ready for a great night out with your friends at Cloud 9 and Sports Bar on the lower lobby floor of Maxims Genting Hotel.

The countdown party will feature a band performance and the resident DJ.

The cover charge, inclusive of a party pack, is priced at RM68 nett for in-house guests and RM88 nett for walk-in guests.

While at the resort, indulge in a gastronomic journey at the various food and beverage outlets, with offerings ranging from fine dining to sumptuous buffets.

The grandest buffet is at the Coffee Terrace, with its special selection which includes roast chicken, roast of the day, pudding and more on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The buffet is priced at RM45++ per child and RM88++ per adult. Dinner is served from 5pm to 10pm and brunch from 11.30am to 3pm.

The Coffee Terrace is having an ice cream promotion until Jan 1. Diners can enjoy a selection of ice creams with toppings, compote and sauce, choice of ice cream cones, sweet pancakes, lollipop sticks or cup ice-cream. The specialties include various Gelatomio ice cream flavours, including yoghurt banana, tiramisu, double chocolate, kiwi, wild berry, passion fruit, caramel and almond, mocha, cheese cake raspberry, orange, espresso and black sesame, as well as the yoghurt-based ice creams.

You can also try flavours such as yam, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, durian, pepper mint chocolate and mixed blue berry.

If you are planning to indulge in fine dining on New Year's Eve, The Olive restaurant will take you on a memorable gastronomic journey. The restaurant won the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival Golden Cauldron award.

Dinner starts with baked scallop in shell with truffle hollandaise, followed by duck consomme, with king crab tortellini and orange powder foam and, poached langoustine with persimmon and lemon vodka confit. This is followed by smoked goose liver torchon with parmesan pudding, beer battered mushroom and truffle vinaigrette.

As for the main course, the diner can choose seared halibut fish and smoked abalone with chive beurre blanc, or peppered baby lamb rib artichoke, caramelised onion demi glaze, roasted parsnip with juniper scented red wine reduction.

Complete the journey with mouthwatering dessert. The New Year's Eve set menu is priced at RM298++ (without wine pairing) and RM398++ (with wine pairing) and served from 6pm to 11pm.

New Year's Day lunch is available at The Olive from noon to 2.30pm and the set lunch is priced at RM168++ (without wine pairing) and RM268++ (with wine pairing).

The Resort Cafe offers a delicious festive buffet spread priced at RM55++ per adult and RM27.50++ per child. The New Year's Eve buffet dinner is available from 5pm to 9.30pm. The New Year's Day buffet lunch is priced at RM50++ per adult and RM25++ per child.

Make your way to First World Cafe to enjoy a scrumptious New Year's Eve and New Year's Day buffet spread. The New Year's Eve buffet is available from 5.30pm to 9.30pm and priced at RM50++ per adult and RM25++ per child. The New Year's Day buffet is available from noon to 2.30pm and priced at RM43++ per adult and RM21.50++ per child. The First World Cafe is at the 3rd floor of First World Plaza.
