CLUB UPDATE: Funky Villa at Thong Lor now has cover BHT400 for foreigners. Of course if you buy a bottle it's waived or if you have "friends already inside with a TABLE". That's what the sign outside club said. Personally I don't like clubs with covers in Bangkok even if I always open a bottle. That's why I don't really go clubbing at RCA anymore.

That bit ridiculous to impose cover charge for the foreigners, especially clubs that doesn't have crowd count thus the club will be over crowded. To be frank, never once I enjoy myself inside the club. Despite once got there at 2100 hrs just to get good table near the stage, but failed. Came at 2100 or 2330 also makes no difference, still got place nearby the tall shelf, where you can stuff drinks at the hole. Been there for about 20 odd times, only once can see the band really can perform, the rest, so so. Wondering whats so great about this Funky.

Asked few of my thai friends whom really LIKE this Funky so much. The answer given was, '' in thing, hiso'' 400BHT, RCA seems cheaper, and if reach there about 2200 hrs still can choose table. Looks like time to go to the local disco like Long Beer, should I move back to Krung Thep. Cheap + less crowd+ good band performance + can hook the local residing around that area.

Thanks bro for the info about the cover charge. I believe the surrounding discos like Muse, Demo and Nung Len also impose cover charge towards the farang.

Agree been to Funky twice both times early also kenna lousy table and super squeezy. RCA still ok but I prefer Rachada soi 4 dance clubs. Bro, where is Long beer disco located?

Bro there's one at Rachada, but I don't know which soi. I'm normally used to go nearby my teerak house, Bang Kuay. It's outskirt of Bkk. Ask the the local pooying, I'm sure they know where's long beer located as I were told they got branches all over Bkk. Totally no farang, can go in wear slipper, and bermudas+ quite havoc to see the sao sao party when they drunk.

Just to inform you, tomorrow is the King's birthday, so majority of the entertainment will be close. Not to forget beside the King's birthday its also Father's day for all father in Thailand too.
