Re: Re-location advice
Thats true. Everybody wishes upon that kind of life but not everyone is so blessed. For those of us without such luxury, just have to build our nest from scratch.
Nowadays the strawberry generation very pampered. Have most things handed to them on a plate hence they develop such mentality. U see young kids nowadays so good life can go holiday in Japan, USA, Korea in their early adulthood. I flown once to Australia at 10 and didnt see the insides of a plane till I bought my way into it 10 years later. |

Re: Re-location advice
Foreigners may get more investment chances.
Liberalisation needed to enable Thailand 4.0 Bangkokpost 19 Dec 2016. NEWSPAPER SECTION: BUSINESS WRITER: PHUSADEE ARUNMAS Telecom and cable lines line Phahon Yothin Road. The government is considering liberalising more service businesses for foreign investment, including telecommunications. (Photo by Pattarapong Chatpattarasill) The government is considering liberalising more service businesses for foreign investment including telecommunication, financial services and those that the Board of Investment (BoI) is seeking to attract, such as related to innovation and advanced technology. Banjongjitt Angsusingh, director鉾eneral of the Business Development Department, said responsible authorities are studying the possibility of liberalising more business activities under List 3 of the Foreign Business Act (FBA), as well as those relating to the government's investment promotion under the Thailand 4.0 economic development model focusing on digital economy and advanced technology. The FBA has three lists of activities in which foreign participation may be prohibited or restricted. Activities in List 1 are designated as "businesses not permitted for foreigners to operate due to special reasons". Foreign companies are completely restricted from engaging in these activities. Activities in List 2 are designated as "businesses related to national safety or security, or affecting arts and culture, traditional and folk handicraft, or natural resources and environment". Foreign companies may only engage in these activities with prior cabinet approval. Activities in List 3 are designated as "businesses in which Thai nationals are not yet ready to compete with foreigners". Foreign companies must apply for and obtain a foreign business licence before commencing in these activities. Earlier this year, the government green-lit liberalising foreign investment in four businesses: commercial banks, representative offices of foreign banks, and life and non-life insurance. Ms Banjongjitt said details on the sectors that will be allowed freer foreign investment are likely to be available early next year. "The department is committed to improving the Foreign Business Act to comply with the country's changing economic condition and hired an advisory firm to study how to upgrade the Act in regards to a new definition of 'foreign', which business sectors need to be controlled or liberalised, and ways to tackle the nominee issue," she said. "The study should be completed by the middle of next year, and should be based on similar acts applied in other countries." Ms Banjongjitt said Commerce Ministry authorities are committed to continuing investigations into the 10 targeted businesses and 10 provinces that are suspected of operating with nominees next year. The department began stricter inspections this year in the 10 provinces that are key tourism venues. Target businesses include spa services, restaurants, tour guides, property, car rentals, direct sales, souvenir shops and educational services. |

I am not pamper but I still prefer to stay in a proper Condo with at least 1 bed room separated from main hall. Frankly there are different between condo and apartment in term of quality and environment.

Most Thais still prefer to buy and stay in landed.... most rent an apartment due to work in BKK. Cheap apartment can be as low as 2k and share among Thais. The cheapest Condo I came across is about 8k.

Re: Re-location advice
PR in Thailand really do not have much value and it cost too much to even think about getting one.
First most important criteria of getting a PR in Thailand is you need to have a non-immigrant visa consistently for at least 3 years. Or (1) Investment category (2) Working/Business category (3) Expert category Having a PR status in Thailand, the benefit is not having to do a 90days reporting and annual visa extension. You still need to apply for Re-Entry permit annually. Others beneifts: You can also have your name on a house registration document, and you will be able to buy a condominium without making a bank transfer from abroad. Getting a work permit is also made easier once you have PR status. Thus if you have non-immigrant visa (through Thai Wife) and you are flying out of the country before the 90days reporting. I do not see any benefits as it cost about 95,700 baht (thai wife) and 191,400 for normal. Now the new Law allows Aliens having Thai Wife to apply for citizenship without a PR status. Hopefully i answer your questions. |

Re: Re-location advice
Hhahaha ya i also very curious why u want to get PR in thailand? I absolutely dont see the value in it. Even if you get a thai wife, Im sure you will travel back to SG often enough to re-extend your tourist visa.
