Chloe crept up behind me. “Is anyone there…?” she whispered bitterly. I shook my head, which in hindsight was stupid since she couldn’t possibly have seen in the dim lighting.

That was the last incident with Chloe (thankfully), we originally thought some other camper had seen or heard what had happened but there were absolutely no rumours spread, soon we had forgotten about the incident. I was only reminded about it much later at a gathering…
