Re: All you need to know about Genital Herpes
the soreness usually develops at the groin and the leg area..and it usually appears before you see the bubbles..
the bubble(s) will not just popup as a dry one... when u press it..there is usally fluid in it.. and it will dry up in afew days.. |

Living with herpes - 5 years on...
I have GH for more than 5 years and I've posted some advice before based on my own experience with the disease. This is an update.
I'm not a doctor. So I will only share what I myself have experienced: 1. The first few months was really painful. Many blisters. Took long time to heal. 2. From second year onwards, outbreaks became half the number and less painful. 3. From year 3 onwards, just 3-4 outbreaks which were very short and very little pain. 4. After 4 years, almost no outbreaks. Also, not painful anymore. Just one or two pin sized red dots and they clear up within 24 hours or a good night's sleep. 5. From year 5 onwards, no more outbreaks up till now (touch wood). My advice: 1. See a doctor. Take his advice. 2. Have valtrex on hand. The other medicines don't work so well and need to take more times a day. For valtrex, only need to take once in the morning and once at night for bad outbreaks. 3. Have a cream on hand. Don't use ointment based. Use cream based ones. 4. Avoid unnecessary stress, late nights, bad diet, soft drinks, alcohol and smoking. 5. Observe hygiene and don't mix your eating utensils and laundry with your family members', especially in the first year. That's all for now. Do post questions if you have any and I'll try my best to answer them if I encountered the same problems myself. Hang in there, bros. Time is on your side. |

Re: All you need to know about Genital Herpes
I have had GH for about 1.6 years now. Stress is unavoidable due to nature of work so I had outbreaks every 1-2 months which took 1 week - 2 weeks to heal.
It was quite depressing to have painful outbreaks that often so I switched doctors and asked for alternatives. He then recommended me to go on suppressive treatment, meaning I take Medovir twice a day for the first year and once a day on the second year. So far so good, its now my 3rd month and no outbreaks yet. Cost is about SGD60 per month. |

Re: All you need to know about Genital Herpes
I have been taking Lysine 1000 twice daily since June..still wondering if it works. My outbreak is normally once every 2 months and takes about 1 week to heal....

Re: All you need to know about Genital Herpes
I haven't been posting on this forum for a long time now...however, I would like to share my condition and experience with bros who are also suffering with this condition...
I have had GH too...for about 1.5 years now...I have outbreak averagely once per month. Sometime, it's really stressful but have came to term in living with this condition. Doctor gave me some Acyclovir 400mg for stand by. If outbreak occur, take 3 times a day and apply the TD cream. I am also just started taking Lysine, 1500mg a day. Hope this help too. The doctor said Acyclovir or other GH drugs are safe to take with no side effects...even 2 months old baby can take. The doctor also said that after 2 to 3 years, the outbreaks will be much lesser with lesser time needed to heal as well. I am also recently keeping a note on when the outbreak occured and what may be the possible factors that triggered it. Hope this will help me to better manage it. My outbreaks got no pain at all...it started with itchyness at the site follow by a few small bilsters. However, due to the lacking in the knowledge on GH at the early stages, I infected sites nearby the initial site. Now, I am having a few sites within the groin area which would have possible outbreak. So, bro, please be very careful not to infect the other sites when handling the outbreak. Sometime, it is also unavoidable...for example, if the initial GH happend inside the foreskin, you may risk infecting areas that come in contact with it. This virus is very contangous and it spread thru close contact with the infected area. However, I may take positive point of view from having this condition...that I have stopped going for commercial sex, stopped smoking and drinking and live a healthier life style by taking lots of healthy foods and exercise. In fact, I feel I am living a better life now...although the GH virus is still pretty much active...so bros out there suffering with this condition, don't give up, treat it as a common skin condition...time is all we need to get better. Don't give up... |

Re: All you need to know about Genital Herpes
not sure about that but it's been like er.... 2 years? As usual once every 2 or 3 months. It's not a lot but it's not few too hahaha...Anyway I am kind of used to it already. Just trying out Lysine which costs like S$29 instead of Valaciclovir which is way too expensive based on monthly consumption.

Re: All you need to know about Genital Herpes
Hi Bros,
I am kinda in a complicated situation. Last exposure was about 2 weeks plus back. The FL lick my dick then proceed with capped bj. I then went for reservist and field camp. Now, i notice a bump on my shaft. Its red, swell up but no pain or itch involves. I do not notice any pus build up in it too. Its almost similar to a pimple or ache. Then, i notice pubic hair grows through that pimple. I then extract the hair out and try to squeeze it out. Blood did ooze out put still no signs of pus. Now, i am not too sure if it is genital herpes here. I tried to search online but it might not be accurate and i know the best is to consult a doc. Would appreciate if any bros out here can shed some light on my issue and if possible, recommend a doc as i can only visit it on a weekends. This is indeed very disturbing and i totally has no mood for sex even my gf is complaining. Thanks for your time reading bros. |

Re: All you need to know about Genital Herpes
don't think it's anything. Normally if it's Herpes, you will notice clear fluid when you burst the blister or blisters. It's like having chicken pox which is a member of the Herpes family. And if hair grows out of it, most likely to be an acne or pimple. Have a talk with your family doctor who is the best person to advise you.
