I was actually there that night when the accident, We just arrived there and about to to TAM, and we heard a loud bang. so being KPC, we walk over to find out what happen. and after talking to some uncle there, found out that the PRC girl was crossing the road while talking on her phone. As usual, they will look at the wrong direction when they cross (China is LHD while Singapore is RHD) so naturally, being KTV girls, they will be talking like no tomorrow when they are not in the room with customer. So never see on-coming traffic.

The drunk guy who drove Hundai was trying to pass the Mercedes and was speeding and possibily blind spot and did not see the PRC girl, and resulted in the accident.

The rest of the story everyone would have read about it in the papers.

The friend on the other line must be in real shock. (I pity the friend)

When we left TAM at about mid-night, the police was only about the remove her body

in the MRT, kiasu singaporean hogged in front of the train door, pushing and shoving their way into the train before pple could walk out. they leaned on the holding pole, preventing others the chance to hold onto it. The men sit like they have two big balls between their legs. most pretend to be asleep or some just openly act blur when an elderly or pregnant woman walked in...

in the bus, they also push and shoved their way up into the bus. then they hogged in the middle of bus, stubbornly refused to make the way to the back of the bus, as if they would nver have the chance to get out of the bus alive. And the funny thing is the next and last stop is the interchange.

during the earth day, pple complained abt having to pay 10 CENTS for a plastic bag. And being typical singaporean, they say : "Why should i pay for a plastic bag, i oreadi buy things wah? Why can't the supermarket make things convenience for us? It is not abt the money, it is abt principle lor."

Goddness sake, can't they understand the meaning of earth day? Naive + selfishness!

If these kiasu and self-centre singaporean don't even have the basic consideration for pple and the earth....why talk abt humanity? My toes are laughing hard...real hard.

GST is just a way for the govrt to earn extra "income" so as to be able to fund the extra expenditure on social welfare fund.

My simple logic is :

Cost of a packet of sugar : $2.00
5% GST : $0.10
Total cost : $2.10

7% GST : $0.14
Total cost : $2.14

Cost diff : $0.04

Cost of a car : $70,000
5% GST : $3,500
Total cost : $73,500

7% GST : $4,900
Total cost : $74,900

Cost diff : $1,400

My logic is : the GSt hike would affect the rich most, since they buy most of the luxury goods. Middle class next, and the lower income last, cos their prority expenditure is basic commodities like rice and sugar.
