I beg to differ. Prices that you are comparing is based on District 1. Where the girls are definitely spoilt. And most of the time by Japs, Singaporeans, Malaysians and Angmos(but I dont believe angmos like to spend on paid sex, and I think angmo are cheapskate and not many are rich and wellpaid in HCMC). I paid USD30 for a HJ in a MP in District 1. Once and never again. PCC cheaper and better.

There are many other places which offers 200kVND and below HJ. The quality of girls are comparable to those in District 1. And most of the time better massage. Of cos you cannot expect "ambience" like New World, Sheraton or Caravelle.

I really dont think we are able to change the rules. Especially for those who are just passing by as tourist. Even so for those who work or have business in HCMC. In most cases, the rules will be set by the business operators. For example +++yo Hotel, HJ is fixed at 200k VND - if you like the girl you pay more. It attracts mainly Taiwanese and local vietnamese crowd. The MP in Winsor Plaza Hotel does not allow the girls to tell customer how much tips they want. It attracts mainly Asian and richer local vietnamese.

Vietnamese are not that poor. Especially those who are from HCMC. The average income for HCMC should be USD200=3.2million VND. Not very low, comparing the typical vietnamese would spend around 2million VND a month. And do bear in mind that a vietnamese spend every single cent he earned. And most of the time much more. A good salary for a vietnamese to earn is 5million VND.

A typical singaporean makes SGD2k-5k a month. No matter how much you earn, you would spend around SGD1k=10million VND a month on regular expenses. Some pay for SGD40(thai) sex, some pay for SGD100(china,viet), some pay for SGD150(malaysian) sex, som pay SGD150-250(angmo,korean,jap,hk,"models") , some pay for above SGD500("high-class" escorts, ktv girls). The most I ever pay is SGD500 for ST in Singapore. SGD800 for ST in HK.

A typical Malaysian would spend around RM1k=5million VND a month. Cheapest I ever paid is RM50. Norm is RM150=750k VND.

HJ at 100k VND is considered affordable for local vietnamese. Most are willing to pay 150k-200k VND. ST FJ, 300k VND - 500k VND, there are willing to pay. Foreigners are "expected" to pay more than the locals. So 500k and above for foreigners. Cheapest I ever paid is 700k VND for LT. Max is 150USD.

Based on Expense vs Sex chart. This means that sex is overpriced in vietnam compared to singapore by 2.5 times. Angmo, Japs pay 2 times more in Geylang.

Based on the Earning vs Expense chart. A singaporean earns 6.25 times more than a vietnamese, but only spend 5 times more than a vietnamese. A malaysian earns 3.125 times more than a vietnamese, but only spend 2.5 times more than a vietnamese.

Thus in conclusion, HCMC does not has a very low standard of living. HCMC should had been richer than Singapore and Hong Kong. It has always been a city with lots of rich people. Like any country, it has other cheaper options. Just that for tourists and foreigners, it is hard to find cheaper alternatives. And language is defintely a major barrier why cheaper alternatives are not reached by foreigners. Just like China,India and Thailand, foreigners are expected to pay a "higher" price for commercial sex. Singapore and Malaysia is too pampered with choices. And Singaporeans dont pay "premium" price in Malaysia, like wise Malaysians dont pay "premium" price in Singapore.

Again, hcmc is not the place for massage cum hj, or even for ST, overnight...paid sex in short. But as a foreigner, we can always try free sex, try target those english/mandarin/contonese speaking vietnamese at pub/disco/salon or even on the street, chances r higher as i feel that those r more willing being fish by foreigner, with the purpose of marry foreigner or just dont like vietnamese guy. Just my two cents, if u hv times to spend, try to fish, not to pay..

I have alot of time to spend. "Free" sex, tried, and still trying. Communication is still the main issue, still have not pick up vietnamese well enough.

I am out of the marrying league. So have to be extra careful. Ditching a vietnamese woman is not easy.

I have a fair understanding why vietnamese woman don't like vietnamese guys. Drinking, gambling and beating wifes - reasons. Then will be the money issue.

It is written on the signboard in every massage room. You can actually make a complain to the manager - advised from my vietnamese friend. And I am not talking about tips for special. Just like to share a little trip to HCM recently ( few days back). After my work, i was quite boring as i'm not really familar with HCM and forget to check out the happening scene in sammy forum. Remember i past by one of the club, which looks promising to me and have a massage centre beside it.

Actually sexcusion to HCMC is not cheap man..me and 3 of my collegues going there soon..Dmg i calculated in SGD:

Airticket : $270 each(tiger airway)
Hotel : $40 x 3 nights = $120 each
Makan + cabfare + Drinks = $200 each
Gals if fish from disco = $160 x 3 = $480(if everynight have)
Total = $1070

Go Bangkok cheaper but for the different experience lor...

Nothing is free.
Especially for short term visitors who have not enough time. Your best option is to go hook up one, pay and fuck for the night.
Even for long term stayers, you dun pay in cash, you pay in other ways (wine, dine, shopping, gifts, gifts for family, your time & effort, etc etc).
