Then barfine, 1,500 - tips + food +misc = 3000 .. 200 $ to have atleast one day fun + everything .. and you can cut it much much cheaper if you take Philippine rabbit bus .. and rough it a bit (not at all actually, from Manila on Philippine Rabbit to Dau is non-stop, the Swaggy being just private bus, still end up i Swagman hotel. . ) As long as you don't have the urge to save a bit money and venture to dark place, or tend to get drunk and stumble back .. or blindly follow some native offering 'cheap young virgin girl' .. and bit street smart - safe ... Again sorry as I did miss the smiley at the end. I was paying too much attention to all the emotional outcomes from everyone about the raids. It could be upsetting for me also when I hear about all the BS that goes on in "paradise". |

Problem is I do travel to many other places to have "fun" but can't really post those FR here as this is more the AC forum. I had posted in other threads before on other cheonging locations but just to note that I stopped because there are some very "unfriendly" bunch that post in other locations. This AC thread use to have a few also but lately only the friendliest and helpful guys around here so thats why I hang out here instead as its more comfortable and more enjoyable. Cheers to all of you. PT |

Funny as I've been there (and only once) but it seem to take me twice the time it took you. maybe I should've pay for the deluxe tour instead of the Cheap Charlie tour, and hey, what's so bad about the chocolate hills?--even though I would not have even noticed it unless someone pointed it out to me And yes, just like other locations in PI, the natives in Boracay swears their beach is the best not only in PI but the world. |

1) as others have said so just repeating. Don't know where you normally go for fun but AC is really the Cheap Charlie for "fun"--even including the airfare. For example, if you take out one gal in HK, the same price can get you at least 4 in AC. 2)If you can snorkel that means you can swim and if you can swim then diving is easy as you don't need to come up for air--that's what the scuba tank is for. I'm not a great swimmer but ok at it and I currently hold 2 certifications in diving. And if a clown like me can do it almost anyone else can. |

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
Sad but true, happen to me 2 years ago in Manila. I went into the MP --think it was near the airport area but not Airforce MP. It looked nice and had attractive gals so I went in for a massage and when the time came I expected "extras". It was never offered so I asked about getting "extras". They were so offended that they kicked me out the door, never even ask me to pay for the massage. |

Patts actually really cheaper if pick up some FL from beach road during the afternoon or evening but watch out as some of them are truly "UGLY" or fat. Guess you get what you pay for. As for any grand openings. Anything in PI never runs on time. I remember seeing signs for a new bar opening 3 years ago that said will open Julyxxx, never opened when I was there and went back 3 months later and still under construction. Even if they open on time, All I can say is the Dragon is opening at a very bad time to do it. |

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
PT2, you are right .. AC Is for cheapest charlies .. as I wrote before ..
And diving, actually, with the BCD, you don't need to even know to swim .. the BCD will help you to float or sink .. And for things in Phil, never happening on time, an American had this to say: As a full resident, he had bought a property, fully paid up, worth 30 million peso. He wanted to mortgage the property, for a loan of 10 million, to invest in a business. And almost 1 years since he asked the banks to appraise and advise, and as of now, no reply .. and "don't worry sir, we are working on it, our Customer is our priority .. " Now, if you ask a bank here, to fully mortgage and lend 30% of your property value, how long do you think it will take ? A week, or two before they make their offer ? After all, 30 mil property (1 mil S$) is a lot of money for any 2 cents brain bank to take as collateral .. right ?? His conclusion, is, while they banks are willing to lend money to low risk ventures, they just don't want to take any risk in medium risk venture .. or even any financing, in case the rich billionairres loose money .. and stick to 'least risk ventures ' and also keep the foreign banks hands tied, so they too can't help grow home-grown businesses .. so, if you pledge 1 mil US $ property and ask for 100K US $, it will be better .. or some sorts .. and the banks main revenue is not commercial financing .. it is "REMITTANCE" .. end of the day, banks are to not help the economy .. though all the banks are privately owned .. they are there to only make the rich fatter .. and richer .. In Pinoy Land, the mega banks are all owned by the big time cronies .. and they think 6 months wait is good .. if not better .. ah .. sorry, at every advert, they remind people they are not to make money, but to 'help people', like, charging to withdraw money in your home ATM (and forcing people to draw more money and get mugged .. ) and a super efficient mobile network that doesn't, for fxxks sake, auto roam .. you need to turn on roaming, and off roaming .. for the mobile networks which were praised for their contribution to the nation, while not investing in even outdated technology .. ah, come on .. no tracking of SIM card ownership .. and nothing at all .. even the president got a scam text, and all he could do was laugh it out .. knowing even the Philippines Finest can't trace who sent the scam text .. so, instead of catching scammers, they just make it headline news as comedy of the day .. I don't blame them ..

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
[QUOTE=Hahahaha;6103847]There is one massage shop in Ermita (near Riveria Mansion, not MP but don't know what's the difference) that has a sign says at the door "NO EXTRAS!"
All I remember were the nice gals at the door with low tank tops and very very short shorts on. Also no sign of any kind that I was aware of or I would not even consider going in if sign exist. All hinted of a naughty place. I was going to say that this place was a scam or switch and bait but thinking about it now it was not a scam. Why, because a scam meant getting as much money out of me as possible. Not the case there as they actually kicked me out the door and didn't even ask for any money at all for the 20min massage the gal gave me. I got a free massage and all I remember was a cute gal having this look on her face as I was leaving Like I said, sad but true--ok maybe true but not so sad afterall. PT |

Ha ha, true but as a license diver I have seen a few equipment failures in my days, so always a bit safer to at least know how to swim so just in case all hell happens (that one in a million chance) then could still drop the equipment and float to surface and wait for help. The so called "buddy" system works great only if going 1 on 1 with another experience diver or instructor but usually 1st timers or amateurs go in a big group with only a few experience diver/instructors to monitor everyone. Easy for a mishap to happen (like that famous case in Australia about 10yrs ago when a group went diving and upon returning to the boat they notice a couple (man and woman) missing. They were never found. |

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
PT2, I don't do deep dives, and mostly shallow dives, and the main reason I don't form groups and gangs is to avoid cluster fucks .. and gang fuck ups ..
Even experienced divers, like the Japanese guy and Spanish fellow in Bora, refused, when there was a group of dozen divers asking for a DM .. and me - I steer clear of pinoy divers as .. I think they cut corners .. sometimes .. me, myself and if with me - my GF .. and that's enough .. so the Dive master has less stuff to worry about .. PS: after 12 dives, I never bothered to go through the certification .. hence i am still a 'novice' diver ..

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
lone_wolf: head to Peurto Galera, and about 500 S$ can get you OW Diver, and about a bit more, can get you upto Rescue diver
The dive masters, though European, in most place, are on their holiday mode, so they don't mind the peanuts pay .. compared to what they do back in their own country, but they are happy and having fun .. as they say, and getting paid to have fun .. And you can also try Fish Eye divers, in Bora .. and they are good as well .. never accepting more than 2 pax for certification dives ..
