Come on ... be fair to the man.
Firstly, he has to sign replacements for Barnes, Beardsley, Nicol, etc ... all acknowledged in inner circles as irreplaceables, not to mention the first two were signed on all-time-high personal terms. Already very much a deviation from past LFC philosophies - that it's teamwork that win titles, not stars.
Secondly, all this happened during the time when English clubs were banned from ALL European competitions ... meaning extra revenue were zilch while continental players were also not interested in coming.
Lastly, who do you think we could have signed under these circumstances??

Omg! there is talks about interest in Diego "Forlorn"!!! that guy was a total misfit during his stint in the EPL...but he did seems to have a knack of scoring against Liverpool...if not wrong, he actually broke his duck scoring against Liverpool..

"Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri is keen on Liverpool striker Peter Crouch.
Gazzetta dello Sport says Ranieri wants Juve to revive their interest in Crouch after trying for the beanpole centre-forward in January.

Having given up hope of convincing David Trezeguet to stay, Ranieri now intends to use the Frenchman as bait to convince Liverpool to part with England international Crouch.

Thanks for this. Always risky to judge from a "goal collection" heh. He seems to have played as a centre-forward so can't see much of his pace or ball skills. But looks like a passionate player and sure takes a damn good penalty.

Naturally, we'll see only the best of his goals in clips like this. But he looks like an old-fashioned centre forward with pretty decent instinct around the box. If that's the way he plays for 90mins, Kuyt will be hard pressed to hold a place. But thanks for putting up link, was actually starting to wonder who the hell he was.

If you look at his goals, basically not a natural goal scorer but some one with lady luck. This is one hell impt for a striker, be at the right time @ the right time

wow this guy reminds me of the typical fox in the box strikers like Rush, Aldrige and God..always seems to be there at the right place and time to put the ball in.. just hope he can make his work for Pool...
