CP Hotel Recommended - ShangYuan
(Was thinking to write this long time ago, but could not find the time until now...) For those who always staying at Huatai, Miraton or Huihua, now, you may consider this hotel, ShuangYuan. ShuangYuan is a newly opened hotel with less than one year; the design is similar to Huatai, but Huatai is already 3-4 years old. Also, in term of pricing, they are also more compatible than Huatai. The hotel deco is not as class as Miraton or Huihua, but room vice, because it is newly build, so it makes not much different (at least to my own opinion). It is located at the Changping Avenue (常平大道), which is the same street as Huihua and Huatai (same side as Huatai). To be exact, from Miraton, you pass Huihua, then pass new century, then changping theatre and you will see Shangyuan. Location point of view, it is a bit out of central, about 5 minutes walk to Huihua. Think it positively, you may take the walking as an daily exercise, especially right now the weather is very good for walk. As for surrounding, you got convenient store at the back of hotel, opposite the street there is a western restaurant, and at the hotel lobby that is hakka restaurant. Next to the hotel there is a nice restaurant, dragon's place (会龙居). There is also one mall opposite the hotel (or next to the changping theatre), but until now still didn't have time to go shopping yet... If you go up further, there is a big shopping mall (can't remember the name), and the area of rmb30 BBS!!! I like to stay at executive room (which I always recommended), the walk in price is only rmb228 (both weekday and weekend) and of course with contact, you get rmb10 or 20 cheaper. Comparing the price, it is about rmb100-150 saving than Miraton or Huihua. The room is with good internet speed, but the down side is no bathtub and the TV set is not as nice as bandao new wing... But again, with this price, facility and the location, it is one of the unbeatable and value for money hotel in cp. Next time, during your stay in cp, you may consider this...

this round had a wrong planning... stayed in dongguan too long during september...
so many friends visiting dongguan during canton fair (especially the old ones)... kns, miss you all!!  also my 1st missed canton fair since 2005... next april wait for me... for sure i will be coming!!!
