but pool has someone spurs doesnt have... a focal point (in the name of steven gerrard) to build a team around. u would have noticed that spurs have a host of midfielders but so far, none could stamp a lasting influence on the game. makes me wonder why they dont just spend on that money on just a few really good ones.

depth is important... but without shape on the field and no one stamping their influence on the game, depth counts for nothing. i m also a liverpool fan but do love the attacking flair of spurs since the 80s.

Spurs will always look good on paper but when it comes to the crunch, they will play the ball around a lot but never really get anywhere. They have a decent midfield, not great, but defence has always been their weak point. I think a more frustrated footie fall than a Pool fan would be a Spurs fan.
