On Sunday, October 10, 2009, from 16:30 until late into the night, Typhoon Ketsana set part of Pattaya under water. Pattaya Beach Road, Second Road, Soi Buakhaow, Third Road, Sukhumvit Road and almost all Sois in between, from Pattaya South Road down to Central Road, were fully covered by water.
In some parts of the city the water stood up to 50cm high.

Personally I have encountered nights like these. Best is to just drop into a convinient and normally unvisited bars to keep dry and chill. This is the time to uncover hidden gems.

PS Soi Baukow usually gets the worse of the flooding. So if you're thinking of going to that area to avoid the floods at Soi 7,8 or walking street ; I advise you dont.

Try this khun Roong, who runs his private taxi (saloon cars) business to Hua Hin/Pattaya etc. Tried his services to Hua Hin last Dec (recommended from some travel forum). Comfortable (either Camry, Wish or Altis) and punctual (important!). Fair rates, even if he's got his regular pool farang customers. He's even into facebook! Forgot his tel no.

Thanks to bro yinyang. I used his service to get from Airport-Pattaya-Bangkok-Airport. Always punctual and fair rate. The driver who sent my group was a safe driver, but yet not slow.

Highly recommend.

Be changing my destination from cheonging Bangkok to Pattaya due to the Reds Rally in Bangkok. Left only a few days left before flying off but never been to Pattaya before. Like to know any gal-friendly hotel near walking street?

Pattaya is the place now for me.Lots of fun,Cheaper ladies,great food & u'll be probaly stunned by the amount of gogo bars & beer bar ard & lots of gals dress to kill can see ass & boobs bouncing everywhere u walk.Most of the hotel in pattaya is gal friendly.Those who charge joiner fee mostly is those more upmarket hotel or family oriented place like hard rock hotel etc..

I would suggest u stay at soi 7/8 area for first timer.Soi 7/8 itself is a party area(lots of beer bar,restuarnt & few gogo bar)but more things to do in the afternoon then walking street & its on the baht bus road.Baht bus(song thaew) is few mins to walking street & another place to go for short time is soi six.U can stay at Eastiny place hotel in soi 8 around 1300baht or Eastiny hotel soi 7 around 1200baht both are pretty good room with swimming pool & good breakfast.Flipper lodge is around 1000baht per nite.
