Raids as far as possible timed to avoid public alarm. Last time there were a few examples of FL nest raided in the wee hours of the morning or late afternoon working hours. Some ML or customer think that evening is "safer" but there's really no such thing .

As for targets, joints usually get raid when they become an eyesore or attract complaints. Forum and internet chit chat is part of the "big data" and just one of the ways police get a hint of what's going on behind the closed doors. Discretion is still important and part of the effort to maintain low profile. High profile will get shuttered pretty quickly.

You're right senior bro. Now everywhere there's SPF CCTV cameras 24/7 with polished stinless steel mirrors even around blind spots.

All bros carry their smartphones when visiting & the signals are monitored via the ISP, etc.

With big data algorithms, the patterns are pictured out & can be acted immediately.

Only idiots will assume that SPF won't read SBF for low level intel to confirm their own Big Data surveillance tracking/mapping of vice in SG before conducting raids.

SBF provides circumstantial "soft/small data". It's the second closest thing you can get to on the ground human intelligence/informants without needing to send undercover to go scout places out. You're the one here assuming that it's a binary "Got/Don't have" scenario regarding Big Data. Not me.

Also, it is known that some FLs deliberately want to get raided near the end of their self-decided "time" in SG for that sweet immunity "white card" before final deportation. News got report before some SPF/ICA officer got into trouble for it.

I don't know, but definitely major decisions won't rely on sbf forum info la.

But they have their own algorithm, set up to monitor, is it hard to imagine they have some sort set up for sbf forum? Like looking for keywords etc. Maybe very rudimentary info, to find any pattern, it's not that difficult. Most of the time, no good info, but since the effort is low, perhaps just let it run.

Maybe they realise somehow on days they got raid, suddenly a few hot keywords appear in sbf, if got some significant pattern, it won't help them much la, but can give insight that okt are somehow getting info.

What I know West Taiwan is doing is that they track the shop's transaction records, as well as the big data from the consumer's spending records

Reading this really makes my day. I cannot imagine in an era of AI, so many ppl are still really in their dreamland. For data analytics, data mining is about mining “credible data”. They don’t mine from anywhere around the shop. AI is about rubbish in, rubbish out. Nothing such as 10000 ppl suddenly talk about a mamashop owner doing freelance and next moment AV go raid. Just like today if you are doing some STD AI, will you mine your data from SBF sexual health issue sub forum because Dr Tan writes a lot of good info on STD. It doesn’t work this way one la. The key success of algorithms is about data….

But if ppl song to believe anything they want, then ok to believe

Intelligence gathering is not from one single source, information are always collated from a few sources before the full picture is shown. SBF is just one source but I am sure SPF got other "live" sources too..
