Wanchai is definitely NOT a good place for trying to pick up local girls - most girls there are usually WG's from the PI, LOS, Indonesia and other countries, mostly trying to get the English speaking Hong Kong expatriates and tourists.

My little contribution of my experience in HK

IMHO value for money would be Shanzhen - but....and this is a big but....for your case, IMHO you should opt for Macau.

For one, the customs HKG-China is a lot worse and since I believe/think you're relatively unnfamiliar with both places, I think you'd really be overwhelmed by Shenzhen as it is actually just a regular town with all sorts of activivities and one does need a certain amount of familiarity/knowledge to be able to navigate - especially to monger.

In Macau, things are all out in the open and practically in-your-face and thus should be easier, less hassle for you to have a great time. Plus its really not that much more....considering that you came all the way out here to monger anyway!! Get one of the packages on sale at the Ferry terminals and you'll be set.
