Actually u can tell a person's upbringing from little things like this.

Some friends actually wanted to do it but they were afraid of going against the norm and being chided by fellow meal mates or being stared at by surrounding people. I asked them why be afraid of doing the right thing! People stare cos they are guilty and embarrassed!

Nowadays u can see more hawkers or kopitiams have tray return collection points but not many willing to walk a few steps to bring their trays/utensils to there.

Thanks. This is rightfully what we should do. I think it's not that we are lazy; it's that we are afraid of not conforming with the masses. I am sure there are some who want to do it but are afraid of being the odd one out.

Anyway, I just impressed another gal. To be fair, I had already gotten into her good books in other ways but the clearing tray part was the final killer act. The whole story repeats itself...explained to her why I do this and her subsequent reactions. Now waiting to see if I get rewarded. The cleaning aunty thanked me, and now I am waiting for my gal to 'thank' me.
