Barcelona's fringe players proved too good for Deportivo La Coruna and kept the Catalans on course for a second straight league title under Pep Guardiola with a convincing 3-0 win at the Nou Camp.

Bojan Krkic, in for the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic, opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour, before Pedro and Yaya Toure - in an out of the side all season - added fantastic strikes in the second half to keep Barca in pole position in the table.

Barcelona put the disappointment of their midweek exit from the Champions League to one side with a comfortable win at Villarreal which moves them four points clear at the top of the Primera Division table.

After being sunk by Inter Milan on Wednesday night, the Catalans faced a stern challenge to their domestic ambitions against a Villarreal side that had won their past six matches at El Madrigal.

But Pep Guardiola's side quickly extinguished the threat with three first-half goals from Lionel Messi, Xavi and Bojan Krkic to ensure a more comfortable evening than could have been expected.

Lionel Messi struck twice as Barcelona overcame some nervy moments to comfortably beat relegation-threatened Tenerife at the Nou Camp to put the pressure back on fierce rivals Real Madrid as the Primera Division draws to an exciting conclusion.
