If you are in the interim period of awaiting the status of the LTSVP application, I suggest her to stay in singapore to wait for the latest development and complete the formalities if it is successful. It takes abt 4 weeks to know the outcome.

For PR application, she can go aboard, as long she has the valid mulitple visa to return back.

Today, I heard from my girl that one of her friend went to extend her "PDMM" SVP and was asked to produced proof of savings > RMB400k before ICA renew her SVP.

Any brother here can comfirm this "rumous" ?

Dear all brothers,

I am getting confuse on this issue right now.

Currently working in china and intend to marry my chinese gf.

I am thinking of ROM in HK instead of china and singapore. But does the sg authority recognise it? Problem is because I find it a hassel to go back to sg just for the ROM.

Questions;

1) if ROM in HK, how do I or can I get it to be certify in sg?

2) i am current based here in china with a hk company(actually no intention to go back sg as well) but i would still wants to apply for a social visit pass and PR for her, Will it be possible? if yes, how do I go about doing it?

3) just a thought(may sound stupid, but i really want to find out.) IF she get a PR or citizenship in sg, and at the same time, I get a PR or citizenship of another country(maybe Oz or HK), i am thinking, can i give up my sg citizenship, and withdraw the CPF money. THEN, since my wife is a sg PR or citizen, I apply for a sg PR?

Please don't zap me if i sound crazy or stupid. Just wanna to find out.

Please advice.

As long as the local govt recognise the marriage paper, SG will recognise it.

Wat is the reason u want to certify it? There is no need to certify the marriage cert, just as long as u change your marriage status to "married" in SG. U worry next time, u pass away, your wife cannot claim your asset??

A normal S'porean also difficult to have 50kSGD in bank, talk abt normal PRC.

while waiting when apply the LTSVP,what visa they give?coz when she come in i think they willgive 14 days only,and when apply the LTSVP,need wait 4 weeks...
if not approve LTSVP,so get STSVP?

While waiting for the LTSVP, ICA will grant her one month temp visa for the result of the application. If successful, den they will issue her the social visa pass card after completion of medical examination.

If the LTSVP is unsuccessful, you have some time to appeal before she go back to her country.

半年前去续签时，问我要结婚公证，当时实在没法记得这份公证是留在国内还是带来放在住处了，只好含含糊糊地 回答应该是留在国内，对方很客气的说下次记得让家里寄过来，还告诉我要递上结婚或是离婚公证是防止有假陪读 妈妈来混水摸鱼。

今早去了，交上孩子的出生公证和结婚公证后又被告知，公证需要外交部的认证和新加坡领事馆的认证。再问详细 些说要到北京去做认证，我的天！我的公证全都是1999年做的，现在才让去认证，真不知该找哪 一家。

还需要的是，银行存款证明和孩子他爸的工作职务薪水证明。

有一份英文原件，是移民厅官员给的，给大家参考：

1. Children' Official Birth Certificate;

2. Documentary proof of finacial ability in the form of bank statement,fixed deposit accounts or saving accounts (Past 1-year tansaction)(If the original bank book is not produced on application,a full-notarised copy of every page of the bank will be required.)

3. Applicant's Official Marriage Certificate.

4. Letter of Employment of spouse or self,and

5. Full notarized Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate.

Full notarization refers to a 3-step process whereby a certificate would first be translated and notarized by the local notary public,followed by verification of the notary public's signature by their local the foreign affirs officers and a re-verification of the chinese FAO's signature by our Mission overseas.

No need to certify, you just need to declare.

For social visit pass, there are embassies, you just go there fill up the form and pay about 100yuan. The guangzhou consulate is easy to get to, just take the train to the west station and go to citic building.

You can get a 5 week visit pass, takes about 3-7days to process. The one in hongkong I am not sure

Only if you are a citizen then you can give up singapore citizenship, it might be better to just get PR in the other country and maintain citizenship in singapore till later. Australia PR and citizenship is almost the same thing except every 5 years must renew PR.
