Dear All,

Realized that local Viet business hotel/motel are not covered here. The Bros here stay in 5 stars and 4 stars. Me not so lucky, my company is small and also a low-ranked employee... haha

Here are some recommendations:

Disclaimer, I am not the agent for these hotels and please note these hotels are really basic, 2 to 3 stars only. Cater mainly to local businessman.

1. Hai Long 2 Hotel
307 - 309 Ly Tu Truong
Ben Thanh Ward, District 1

Pls look for Peter (Ah Kei). He speaks Cantonese & Mandarin. His mobile: 090-823-9083. This hotel is a bit old but room rate is USD25/night. Show address to cab driver & he'll take you there. Airport cab - VND75,000.

2. Thanh Lien Hotel
http://www.thanhlienhotel.com/
On the same road as above and District 1.
This is recommended as it is cleaner and facilities are better. Approx US$50/night. Ask for Ms Tram (speaks English). Tell them you recommended by Singapore Friend.
Website price is about US$138.

The best part is that both hotels are gal-friendly. Of course, it pays to be nice to the bellboy/receptionist too.

Here's my story for HCM cheongster.

my sorty on first trip there. last year I was sent to HCm to do some training as well as setup of new shop. blur blur first time. Stay at Hyatt at D1. it's just opened.... but did not know it's not gal friendly. anyway it's under AH GONG account.

, altho we go there monthly but we always stay in 2 stars hotel and the rates starts from US$22 onwards. If you are a regular visitor to HCM, feel welcum to join our outings.
