You can't sponsor your buddy's wife is because you are not his immediate family members. Family problems and matters need discussion within family members, maybe it's time for them to make up and who knoes, solve his fanancial problems too.

ok..ok...I suspect that also.

Some may not be aware that PR is revocable......... PR allows a person to stay for a period of 5 years or 10 years.......

It is revocable......There are many incidents of PR being revoked due to criminal offence committed........ discovery of forge documents submitted during application but discovered now.......

I foresee in near future ......... many PRC who are now the PR will face the pressure .......... as China is now trying to consolidate and compile the population into computer data ......... it is a very big task

Right now...... the personal data are captured manually in small city or village....... the personal data of a person is kept at the place of abode or registration ......... hence a person may have many personal data kep in several places..........

As for educational school cert....... schools have begun to compile their students or ex-student........ so in future ...... with a press of key ...... straightway we can tell whether so and so was the ex-student here........

China has several huge and mega project to computerize its operation and administration............was told that part of these projects were to control and identify the population and to control corruption......

a cousin of mine just married a malaysian 2 weeks... his wife, a malaysian got a ltsvp without glitch. no qn asked at all...according to my cousin, the wife was asked to go for medical check up straight away the next day they applied. they are so happy. n i m happy for my cousin....


we were surprised as he was telling us about his worries as he do not have income tax as requested by ica as he just started to work less t han a year....


they wanted to apply for pr..but scared that their case not strong enuff..... should my cousin wait longer? i understand from some of u that if rejected kena wait for 18 months??


my cousin's wife is now not working as she just came to sg. however was told she would want to work as she is bored most of the time...under ltsvp, she is not a lowed to work...

my cousin thought of sponsoring a pr for her

in this case, do u think they can try their chance or to wait longer?

currently unemployed as she just got married here dis month. she is a degree holder with honours. 2nd upper if not mistaken. speak good english. she was working in a MNC as an assitant manager....she has all certs on her previous employment in msia. heard she is a high flyer...

btw i dunno how to advise my cousin..... it's like a gamble..not knowing wat's the probablity like or chances..

i hv 2 colleagues from msia where they work one month and got their pr straight away!! they dun hv income tax.. just tried their luck and got it approved with one month salary slip!! dunno can believe or not. but that's wat they told me

if a foreigner can get a pr so easily..i m sure the goverment wont mistreat sg males citizen who just got married....


should he call for a shot or wait till he declares tax? i understand from my cousin that the wife will travel to n from JB-sg to w ork if she can't get to work here in sg due to her legality ... my cousin has been very sad of this.

Sponsoring LTSVP (be it 6 months or 1 year), the sponsorer need not have to submit IRAS notice of assessment. Only during application of PR.

As for LTSVP, MOM will give a letter of consent to LTSVP holder that they are eligible to work here but their application will have to be submitted to MOM and based on their own merit.

no harm applying. ICA always says that approval is based on case by case basis.

Even if rejected, as least your cousin can guess which area need to buck up and re-apply again.

As a warning, never use forge documents during application. It attachs jail term punishment. Previously only applicant will be punished. Now the application form 14, sponsorer is deemed to be aware of the forgery and will be charged of giving false statutory declaration.

In Sg, there is no time bar for criminal offence.

I think the best advise to give to bros with foreigner wives is that ICA will look at individual application on case by case basis...........

You cannot use "my friend and I also quite the same and his wife got PR, how can my wife cannot" as a mean test when applying...... ICA has full discretion whether to approve or not........ MP's appeal letter also got not use but only persuasive........

If bros are interested and my time allows, you can PM me of how ICA or MOM do the checking of credential, like birth certs and school cert in PRC, PH, India etc...... you will be shock to see how well is their network....... with super computer and personal data sharing amount hundreds over countries after 911 (strict checking started by the US)......... my advice is DON"T USE FORGE DOCUMENT OR IMPERSONATE OTHERS.......both the sponsorer and applicant will be sentenced to jail terms....... current sentence is 6 to 18 months.......

ha ha..dun worry..my cousin has no guts to do that. he is quite a gd citizen.n i dun think he will schem tru just to get pr for his wife....anyway my cousin told me he was worried as he was made by the ica officer to handwrite a letter to explain why no income tax form ler... that explains why he worried lor...he worries coz spr needs dis. so he was afraid to blow the chance....in terms of academic, i feel he n the wife no problem. the wife is a malaysian and has degree and worked previously in a Multi national company....but he is so kia si coz he dun w un to upset the wife shall her pr appli fails....

he wanted to know that now he has ltsvp and that u mention that they can get consent from MOM to work ( subject to approval), which dept and how he can apply...type of application? is it work pass or ep? according to him, the wife wante d to apply for jobs but was deter coz most jobs has this stuff only pr and singaporeans need to apply.... or they need the applicant to fill up the pr info... so she was sad lor...


so she is pestering my cousin to get pr and my cousin is quite of afraid his case not strong enuff....in this case, wat exactly the ica officer will look at ?

Since your cousin juz happily getting married, why so uptight on the SPR application? The most impt. thing now is to build up their financial background, to buy themselves a marital flat for example. In the meantime, I will suggest her not to work first, while waiting for the result of her first SPR application. Submit the relevant documents to ICA, I'm sure you will get good news before chinese new year if they submit by end of this month.

As I said, your cousin's case stands a very good chance of getting SPR, base on both their qualification background. Just stay patient okie...

Bro, you may be right in a way but ICA is a load of bullshit.
They do not have a yardstick at all in approving SVP, PR or whatsoever.
When you demand an explanation for disapproval, they have the cheek to tell you no reason. I should say they are very very arrogant.
Imagine if Singapore is Indonesia, I think those officers in ICA will be millionaire.
All I can say, luck plays a part too when it comes for the approval.

Just a simple explanation of my case almost 10 years ago for PR for my wife.
1st time applied and the letter came in a month; REJECTED.
Then I went ICA to kpkb.
2nd application was approved within 1Week. Why so fast??!?!?!??!?
