After a few months of clubbing, I stopped. I decided to go on dating apps instead. Afterall, I am not that much into drinking alcohol but I do enjoy hooking up. I was on Tinder, swiping and chatting up with some matches. My profile had a few pictures and bio only had a "hi". I usually matched with those who are cute or handsome, looks fit but not those that posted half naked pictures. There were nice guys that were genuinely interested in knowing me but serious relationship was not on my mind at that time. I won't want to waste their time and usually just let the chat fade away. I didn't want to tell them I was on the app for hookups only. I will chat with the guys for a few days first before meeting up and see how things go after meet up. I prefer this over hooking up over clubbing. I shall skip those normal ones and share a few unique ones.

I matched with E on Tinder. He looked great in pictures and a detailed bio, seemed like someone I can vibe with. We chatted for a few days and he asked me out for dinner on that weekend. We both lived in the north, hence he suggested to meet at Northpoint. That evening he texted me.

*Ding*

E: Shall I pick you from your place at 6:40pm then we meet go (sushi shop name)?

Me: It's okay, I can meet you there directly at 7pm.

E: Alright. What will you be wearing? I will be wearing a black t shirt and a pair of jeans later.

Me: White t-shirt and pair of shorts.

E: 👍🏼

I reached on time, walked and looked around. I tried to spot him while referencing his pictures on his app. Thinking that he might be late. I stood somewhere nearby and waited while playing with my phone. It was 10 min past the meet up time, I decided to drop him a text.

*Ding*

Me: Are you reaching soon?

E: I am already here.

I looked around again but I didn't see him. I did see a guy in black top and blue jeans but it was not him.

E: No rush. No queue here.

Me: I am here too.

I looked up and saw that guy looking up from his phone and walked towards me.

E: Hey, sorry I didn't notice you because of your jacket. I kept looking for someone in white.

He was NOTHING like the pictures.

M: Oh! It's raining so I added a jacket. You are E?

E: Yup! Shall we go in?

I was catfished!!! He looked average, but I did not know why he had to use someone's pics instead. I went ahead with the dinner anyway. We ate and talked over dinner. I tried to not ask about the pictures but I could not resist. We finished our food and I had to ask.

M: Why do you use someone's pictures instead of your own?

E: I wasn't getting much matches with my pics so I decided to try using someone's pics to see if there's any difference. I hope to make friends because they like my personality and not my looks. Don't you agree?

M: ah. I see. I get what you mean. (NO YOU WEIRDO!)

We spilt the bill and left.

E: You wanted to catch (Movie Title) right?

M: I am a bit tired already. Maybe next time?

E: oh alright. I send you home?

M: It's okay. We live in different direction. See you! 😊

I turned and left, blocked him once I got home.

I matched with R on Tinder. I remembered his main picture was in suit, clean cut type of look. He was into running and entrepreneurship. We chatted a lot about running and met up within the week. He was up front that he is not into any serious relationship and only looking for companionship. He lived in some landed property in hougang area.

R: Have you heard of Restaurant W?

I went to google it. It was in Sentosa, located in one of the hotels. It was expensive!

Me: nope but I just googled it. So ex!

R: I don’t expect the girl to pay. My treat. 😊

Me: why do you have to treat?

R: I am asking you out to accompany me. Just buying dinner in return.

Me: we can pick something cheaper.

R: dont worry about the price. As long as you are ok with the settings, we can go for this. I will make the reservation.

He came to pick me at my place in a black BMW, two seater car. He told me his plate number ahead of time. I walked towards the pick up point once I saw the car from afar. He came down to open the door for me. He was wearing a dark blue suit with a white shirt, leather shoes.

I was about the reach for the door handle when he hurried over to the passenger side.

R: hey J. You look gorgeous. Let me get the door.

Me: thank you. 😊

It was fine dining. So I wore a turquoise one-piece dress, mid thigh length, cross straps on the back, with heels. I could smell him when he got into the car, I liked it. We chatted on the way there, I felt comfortable.

We reached the hotel and he opted for valet parking. We were ushered to our table. After looking at the menu, I had problem deciding what to eat as everything was so expensive! He asked if I eat steaks and ordered on my behalf.

R: Can we have 2 steaks please? I'd like it medium and hers will be...

Me: Medium too. Thank you~

R: I know you don't usually drink but you prefer red to white right? (Turn to the waiter) Can we have a (red wine name)?

Me: I will only drink a little.

R: Me too. 🙂

Food was fantastic. He was Mr Nice. No awkward moments. Everything was great. He got the bill settled.

R: are you enjoying yourself?

Me: yes, thank you for the dinner.

R: I am happy to hear that. 🙂 Do you want to head upstairs?

Yes I too always wonder what do girls think after dating rich or I would say more well to do guy. There’s no right or wrong but just wanna understand more on how it works.

In my pov be it you are normal or on the high Flyer lifestyle kind of person we should never disrespect the opposite party same goes for ladies.

Nowadays more and more successful ladies in the relationship as compared to men.
