Those residents who complain are a bunch of GREEDY hypocrites! You know why?

Because they jolly well know that that section has been gazetted as an entertainment sector. Singapore is small and entertainment areas are scarce. There will be bound to be areas that have to cater for the population's needs.
This is control by the govt and what the govt has approved, it is the law. Our nation is ruled by law. Thus investors and owners knowing that it is the law, then they would dare sink money into creating an entertainment outlet along that stretch.

If not lawful, that stretch would have been wiped out long ago, but no, what the govt promised, they MUST honour, otherwise they dont deserved their salaries and position, and will never be trusted again.

HOWEVER, residents have no cause to complain because they already know it it is the law. They could have sold their properties nearby if they are that MORALLY UP-RIGHT. Some did and i respected them. But the greedy hypocrites, i am unable to accept, because they bought the properties cheaply from those who left and then create a self righteous ruckus in order that JC be cleaned up, so that they can sell their properties at a higher price!!!

IT's all about greed, nothing to do with morals. And the Anti-Vice teams are made use of by these greedy ones to the hilt. 'Let the police do the dirty job while they(residents) will pick the fatter profits later' is their aims.

When will ever the govt and AV teams wake up to the truth?

i don't mind to pledge an initial $200sgd to Ah K just to help her tide over for a short while. i know $200sgd ain't a lot of money but at least in Vn, it can feed a family of 4-5pax for at least 4weeks ( i think lah).

i also not too much money to spare myself, so that's all i can pledge at the moment. but when my situation gets better, i can perhaps do a bit more.

Colt, it's a thoughtful and noble gesture on your part for a stranger, but do not do it because:-

1. This will encourage others to be irresponsible for there will be others like you to wipe clean their shit.

2. There are many other such cases even amongst locals and we cant possibly help all. Failing which we will only feel guilty and worse, get labelled as hypocrites.

There are many other ways to solve this particular problem, as others will claim. My suggestion is, if i know that girl well, would be to send her to her embassy for counselling, for it's their responsibility to their countrywomen. Should the embassy fail or dont want to care, then send her to our SOS(samaritians of singapore) to advise her on her predicament - the options and choices she will have to sensibly make, for she might not want to hear our advices.

Remember always, they were both knowing adults when they indulged in procreation activities, not kids. They will have to bear the full consequences. No use ranting or blaming anyone else, but themselves. If even Eddie Murphy, a celebrity and role model for some, can claim he is not the father of Melanie's baby because Melanie sleeps around, what more ordinary mortals such as us? Will those in authority such as judges rule in her favour? Doubt so.

But rest assured, retribution will come. In my years i had seen many irresponsible persons paid heavy prices for their irresponsibilities, some are still paying it. Retribution comes in many different forms, trust me, it will come.

For this very reason the embassy probably will not help.
