Arrived from Bangkok after a 20 hour train ride. Supposed to be 15 hours but engine breakdown and had to wait for a replacement. Oh well... air con 2nd class sleeper not too bad. Thai uncle came prepared for long trip and shared a few beers with him. Costs BHT835 for upper bunk & BHT 905 for lower (bigger bunk). Word of advice: if taking train don't take the non-air con 2nd or worst 3rd class. They stink in the heat & humidity.

This trip really last minute. Never even book hotel. After exit the station, ignored the taxi touts and headed for the nearest kopitiam becoz very hungry. After lunch asked aunty of any cheap hotels nearby. She said can try Louis next to Robinsons. Without asking she said can leave my suitcase in her shop. "No boom!?" she asks. I laughed and said "dun worry, only dirty laundry inside."

Walked over to Louis. Didn't really like the old looking building. Shit! How ah? My laptop batt drained and trying hard to recall what hotels bros recommended in this thread. So just continue walking. Saw a lot of hotels of varying age & standards but somehow only walked into Golden Crown Plaza. BHT880/night. WIFI in room BHT50 for 24 hours. OK sounds reasonable and I'm tired. Left my passport as guarantee then went for my luggage. Tuk tuk back to hotel costs BHT20.

Mandarin speaking doorman carried my bags up and straight away start asking if I wanted a girl. Said to book now coz later the more beautiful ones will be taken up. Price for girl to stay with you from afternoon to next day 10am varies from BHT2000 upwards. New in town and wanted to explore so said I'll find one myself.

Hunger satisfied thought I hop over to Central/Lee Gardens/Odean area coz a post said had China FLs for BHT500 only. Cruised the area for about 1/2 hour but couldn't see any. Hailed a tuk tuk and left the place disappointed. Went to See Kim Yong (SKY) and Chaiyakulitit area again. Dropped at Daichi Hotel. Reccee'd the sois around the hotel. In the night could see more lights. Like moth to a flame I headed to them.

Interesting to note that these "karaoke joints" look like any shop/residential in Thailand. The interior is lit normally like someone's house with a bunch of people gathered outside a table. If you don't pay attention you would think it was a family eating dinner. Nothing looked interesting except for a massage joint 2 sois away from Daichi. Can't remember name but u can't miss it coz its the biggest and colourfully lit. Girls in tank divided into red & blue tags. Costs BHT1,500 and BHT1,700 respectively for an hour and half.

Skipped the Kiss Lounge at Hatyai Garden coz heard it was expensive and I've limit my chiong budget this trip. Noted a "pub & restaurant" at a corner called The One or something (shit! I gotta pay more attention to names) with lots of girls sitting outside waiting for customers.

Hired a motor-si to take me to explore the Channivet area. Quoted BHT30 to the SK Hotel (looks more like Bates Motel!). Again a quite looking neighborhood with "KTV" joints lit more brightly than their neighbours. Stopped at 2 joints but girls not matched to asking price. For those inclined ST BHT1500/ LT BHT2000 upwards. Word of caution: not advisable to walk this area becoz distance between KTVs are far and its really quite & deserted. Saw 2 "boy KTVs" but easy to spot. All guys sitting outside instead of girls.

Motor-si then took me to his "commission payable" massage joint in soi just off Tanratanakorn Road. Think it is in the Wiangpin Hotel. "Ap naam" on the 2nd floor. Girls were sitting on bar stools against the wall. Customers on sofas in the middle of a small room. Place was crowded & I was thirsty. Ordered a small Heiny (BHT80) whilst checking the girls out.
