Yes power of relegation is great but Pompy to roll over manure? We need a huge upset from the other side... Its always better to control the title race rather than at the mercy of opponent's result... Things look bleak now but it was very bright either when we thought we are out before we kicked manure race... Anything can happen, so lets hope and pray and meanwhile, do our part and grab as many points as possible!

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
still have a slim chance for the title.
Pompey needs the pts for safety, let hope they can do us and themselves a favour. think Rafa should start to think and plan for next season, but still need to ensure that even if we do not win it,we finish in the 2nd spot,so that do not have to go through those qualifying matches. Come On Liverpool !!!

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
If I am Torres lookalike, I most prob be using that look and get rich and famous!
Eto'o is good no doubt but he seems like a bag of trouble to me.. Just ask Barca! Torres-Gerrard is the best striking partnership we had for years.. I dont think Gerrard works well with other strikers, unless you consider Booney but what are the chances of him being at Anfield? Some might mention Torres-Villa and Stevie playing behind but Euro 08 shows me that Torres-Villa dont really work well... Torres played for Villa and Spain while Villa looks like he play for himself.. Anyway, we cant afford to buy Villa... SO how many good strikers are willing to come to Anfield and sit on the bench waiting for his chance, unless Rafa decide to change the squad... In short, lets just leave it to Rafa to sort it out.. He is boss, not me!

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
these are times i missed boring defensive Rafa tactics which would have won us the game 1-0.
Arsenal took their chances well with Arshavin, if i was neutral i'd vote this game of the season. |

Ah... Me? I just want to rub Reina's bald head and ask him what he was thinking of during matches. How come always concede goals we thought he can save, like Drogba's first goal against us in the CL semi-finals? We should always remember to give to charity when Liverpool comes. I propose we rope in Rafa to raise money to donate in Liverpool's name. Everytime he smiles after a goal is scored, all of us donate SGD $10 dollars. I'm sure a fund-raiser in this manner will not do our budget too much harm during this recession. |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
what an exciting game!!! what horrendous defending from both sides!!! no saves from reina!!! i wished liverpool could play like that in the other 10 draws they had this season. they could have gotten more points then!!!
Quote:
it will happen to any player when your own supporters boo u!!! this wont happen with liverpool... dont believe??? check out the aston villa game... they booed the ref for sending brad friedal off!!! ok, i m biased... i have been an admirer of eto'o since his mallorca days. i think eto'o can deputise in the supporting striker role and on both wings, in addition to playing as the lone striker. that is 5 positions for u. torres and gerrard r injury prone, u know??? this is not the 1st season gerrard has had injury layoffs. Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
SCOUTING REPORT: LAURI DALLA VALLE
The Guardian 21 April 2009 Have Liverpool discovered the new Fernando Torres? I say that partly in jest but Lauri Dalla Valle, although having an awfully long way to go, certainly has many similarities with the dashing Spaniard, writes Steve Claridge. Both are centre-forwards, blond, exceptionally sharp mentally to spot a pass, physically quick, do more than their fair share of work without the ball and certainly find goals easy to come by. It is plain to see why so much was made of Liverpool's capture of him. I had the privilege of watching this young lad play in the first leg of the FA Youth Cup semi-final at St Andrew's where Liverpool took a 3-0 lead after half an hour and never looked in danger of relinquishing it. The damage was done by two players in particular and I would like to give David Amoo a special mention as his partnership with Dalla Valle was almost unplayable for an overstretched Blues defence. The young Kopites tore into their opponents, creating chances at will and Dalla Valle showed he had that knack of being in the right place at the right time as he finished off a scramble in the box, neatly placing the ball with his weaker left foot in the bottom corner perfectly beyond the keeper's reach, neither snatching at the chance or trying to put too much power on the ball. After Amoo had danced his way past two defenders to put them 2-0 up, the Finn took centre stage again with a little help from the home keeper who went to throw the ball out, changed his mind and let go of possession. The ball dropped between him and Dalla Valle, who reacted brilliantly by making a difficult opportunity look easy as he lifted the ball over the goalie's despairing dive and side-footed it into an empty net. At 3-0 the game was effectively over and no one could have blamed him if he thought his work was done, but he chased and closed down, picking when he was best able to win the ball to affect the play which is important as you can't use all your energy trying to win the ball back. He never gave it away when he had his back to goal, holding the ball up and making sure he retained possession for his team. His first touch and speed of thought meant he was very rarely tackled in tight areas and he always had a picture of what to do when being closed down. Everything he does comes naturally. Some things can't be taught – qualities that separate ordinary players from very good ones – and even at his age his positioning in build-up play and knowledge of where to stand when the ball comes into the box seems spot-on. Some players have lots of the ball but make very little impression in games, but everything he did seemed to impact on the match in some way. Little wonder his signature was coveted by so many big clubs. As a 15-year-old he chose Internazionale but then moved back home to Finland after only a year in Milan. At 17 sometimes the choices you make off the pitch can be as important as the ones you make on it and his decision to go to Liverpool, which looks a perfect match, means he's got both just about right.
