Make sure you cover all angles, just in case. For me, I applied for the PR after she got pregnant, after we got a HDB flat and all viet documents translated into English. The last thing is a letter from the MP.

She was caught in one of the JC pub (Cherry..now close) during a raid last year August. Given a 3 year ban from Sillypore.

I did nothing at ICA at the moment. I only maintain our relationship through sms and chat in yahoo messenger everyday. I went hcm find her last December. This march i going again...

If nothing works for me in Sillypore... i may consider staying in hcm and venture into some business opportunity with my bro there and settle there with my 'potential ba xa'.

This is just one of my thoughts... anyway will continue to monitor situation for this 2.5 years...till Aug 2009. hhmmm

not really... my wife pregnant, but i still haven apply PR for her. Wait after the baby is born then go apply. PR everything cheaper, LTSVP go KK checkup and give birth more expensive, PR can also work, although ICA gave me a letter said my wife LTSVP also can work (work permit).

I think you have miss one vital point.

You love her isn't it? Of course she recipocate as well right?

But is she adapting to our country living conditions, environment, or even join hands with you to conquer all obstacles? Yes, you may get what you want, but you may end up losing something as well.

Yup, foreigner gave birth here is about $1.5k more expensive than local and PR.

My point here is, having a LTSVP compare to a PR makes a little difference.

Difference
1. LTSVP has to be renew upon expiry
2. PR Status looks better of course
3. Consession on housing and medical with PR
4. Easier to get a job with PR status
5. A stepping stone for your gal, in case she jumps ship.

If you really need help, need to meet up to know more details. Dun do anything at ICA first.

I have a frd who have a similar case like your but his vietnam gf then is quite lucky. Only ban 6 months. During this 6 months, my frd face is so familiar at ICA that many of the officer that knew him as he go there almost everyday to drink coffee with them.

Anyway, to cut my comment short short, I dun think any amount of trips or drinking coffee session with ICA will shorten or lift the ban. But hopefully there will be.

im on a similar but maybe more problematic case here

my girlfriend is from kengtung myanmar (same as biker69 bro) but mine was a ex WL here (cat40) howveer that was so long ago, it is already almost 4 years since she left singapore, havent stepped in yet.. i am thinking how long was the ban for her as she herself dont know.

another problem is that in the past she came with a fake thai pp, and now that she has a legal international passport from myanmar, i'm afriad to bring her over for fear that she got jailed for previous offence...

my qn is, since she havent come back to singapore for 4yrs, i am thinking of being honest and pay ICA a visit myself and maybe bring out this matter as honestly and discreetly, stating that she wishes to come back and she has followed the rulle for 4 yrs already ?

or is there a better more discreet matter which would cause any followup problems in future should she really tries to come in, i think the bros here are more familiar with such cases, hope u can direct me in similar directions. thanks alot.

Then shld not be a problem. After the ban, everything shld be as normal as getting a foreign wife procedure. But there are random check on her to make sure the marriage is not a fake one & also to make sure she not back doing her old job back. This is what I gather from my frd.

Anyway, quote the recent Govt drive for 6.4m population lah...a very gd reason for doing nation a service indeed. Promise u will bring a few more Sg babies in the coming years and surely those ICA folks will stamp OK.
