So glad we scored 2 in the first half against Burnley. Was worried that it might be a match where our dominance wasn't reflected in the scoreline.
no lah, im nt implying he's fast. juz tt in recent yrs he had slowed down more than he used to. could see tt he's slow to track back whenever teams counter-attack us.

i wd nt like to see him in our sh1t league too. juz tongue in cheek. i thk he can still play at least 3 yrs of good football in d championship league. anyone knw where's he now? retired for good???

btw juz discovered an interesting blog for lfc fans .. take a look!

Re: Goodbye CARLSBERG!!!

... N welcome Standard Chartered as new jersey sponsor ........

Yet anthr milestone for d club as we match scum's sponsorship deal with Aon for 20mil/yr. Kinda miss d Carlsberg logo which had been on Pool's jerseys since 1992. N who could forget sponsor CANDY, which many older Pool bros here may relate fondly to, with those famous championship winning jerseys. Any bros still have that big V neck jersey with white lining n Candy logo, which Barnes n Rush wore? I think that's still 1 of d nicest n memorable Pool jerseys ever produced. I think d shops here r selling very ex, like $100+.

Liverpool are said to have sealed an £80m shirt deal with Standard Chartered | Football | guardian.co.uk

The top global football sponsorship deals:

Liverpool: £20 million a year (£80 million over four years) with Standard Chartered
Manchester United: £20 million a year (£80 million over four years) with Aon

Juventus: £15 million a year (£75 million over five years) with Tamoil
Real Madrid: £12.7 million a year (£38 million over three years) with Bwin.com
Chelsea: £11 million+ a year (£55 million over five years) with Samsung
Arsenal: £6.7 million a year (£100 million over 15 years) with Emirates

Since you asked, Sammi joined Bayern Leverkusen on a free transfer. The reason given then was that he's seeking more playing opportunities at this stage of his career. His team is now joint leaders in the German Bundgesliga and Sammi played 4 out of 5 league games so far. I researched from soccernet and summarised for you lar. No goals scored yet this season.

People join a german team good enough to lead the league. Not so nice to ask him to think about Sssss League lar.

Bayern Leverkusen isn't in any European league this season as they finished 9th last season. Maybe the following year but I'm sure we'll give him a standing ovation for 10 years of sterling service. He was captain before after all.

Yup. Glad we are where we should be. Given the size of Liverpool's following, Carlsberg has been having a great cheap deal for a long time. Personally, I hope people will stop offering me Carlsberg in pubs because I think Carlsberg sucks as a beer. I just hope people won't ask me to run in the Stanchart Marathon instead. Can die man... Finisher of 42.195km? Nah... Finished by 42.195km more likely.

I know of another friend who will be happy that he can wear our jersey to church and not get questioned as to why he is wearing a Carlsberg T shirt to church. Non football fans may not recognise it's a soccer jersey. Maybe this will make us more attractive a club for the Arabs.

I was reading the comments on Soccernet. Quite interesting. One Malaysian guy is happy because he thinks having Carlsberg as a sponsor makes it harder for liverpool to tour muslim countries. Maybe... I don't think Liverpool visited Malaysia in the last 2 visits to this region right? Another guy commented that we don't need to wear blank jerseys in CL where the stadium is sponsored by another beer company. I did remember us wearing a blank jersey.

Let's be positive. I do think some of the extra money will trickle down to Rafa. Hopefully Stanchart will bring our team back to this area to do more marketing promotions.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

read an interesting post in CNA forum posted by 1 joker ...

LIVERPOOL's new jersey sponsor is STANCHART.

STANCHART is 18% owned by our s'pore garment.

so tt effectively means we S'poreans r indirectly d proud sponsors of d jerseys too ...

As Liverpool fans arent u guys proud to be part of d club's milestone???
