Yeah. I've got food poisoning. Or maybe it's alcohol poisoning. Yesterday was SAF Day Rededication Parade. And I took MC. Wouldn't be so bad if the Euro finals weren't that morning.

Being on the ferry to Batam reminded me of the three months plus that I had to take a ferry to a certain offshore island.

And I hated it.

For some reason, the late afternoon sea was rather choppy and the ferry rode the waves like a roller coaster. Barely halfway into the trip there I already had a splitting headache. I wondered how I was going to enjoy the holiday.

It was early evening when we reached the ferry terminal. As we disembarked, I thought I felt the earth move under my feet, but it was probably just my brain not getting used to being on solid ground. Nicole was trying her best not to laugh at me. After we cleared customs we headed to the driveway where an orange minibus was waiting. We got onto the bus and arrived at the beach resort in less than ten minutes.

I sat at the lobby nursing my headache while Nicole went to check in. Apparently this resort was pretty good, having won numerous awards over the years. After getting the keycards, we headed up to the room on the 4th floor.

Nicole handed me a keycard and I opened the door in anticipation. The room was twin-sharing, and pretty huge. There were two queen-sized beds, which were larger than the usual single beds that were in twin sharing rooms.

I opened the door to the bathroom and saw that there was a bathtub. At least I would get to enjoy a relaxing soak in the tub. I recalled fondly the time I fell asleep with Tanya in the bathtub at her house. This tub was slightly smaller, but would probably fit both me and Nicole if we desired.

I set my duffel bag down and unpacked my stuff. I chose the bed closer to the door, leaving Nicole with the bed that was closer to the balcony, and had a relatively nice view of the swimming pool.

After unpacking my stuff, I kept our passports in the safe, washed my face and feet, and flopped onto the bed face down like a dead fish.

Suddenly, Nicole jumped on me and sat on my back. I could not fight the stirring and I was pretty sure she knew the effect she was causing. She was holding the room service menu.

Nic: Hey. Are you hungry?

Me: Not really. Just a little tired.

Nic: You sure?

Me: What are you getting?

Nic: A pizza. Unless you want something else.

Me: What else is there?
