With the exception of Bellamy, which of these players have scale higher height after they left Anfield? None of them. Again it vindicate Rafa decisions.

Bro, but people still blame Rafa for Liverpool not winning the league last year. According to the "football expert" the reason Liverpool can't win the league last year were the infamous Rafa rant, selling R.Keane too quickly and not always playing his best team. It's all nonsense if you ask me

Well we still scored more goals than Scum without Keane.

But of course expectations are raised this season so all the knives and spears are out for Rafa. He needs to sort out the team soon, something is not right in the team chemistry.

The only good news that we need to hear is that the yanks are selling their stakes at liverpool to a new foreign investor.

No good news so far, it seems like Torres, Stevie and Kuyt all hurt in the internationals - not serious but makes them highly doubtful for Saturday.

Latest news from Liverpoolfc.tv

GERRARD AND TORRES OUT - KYRGIAKOS BOOST

Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres were today ruled out of this weekend's trip to Sunderland - though Rafael Benitez has received better news on the injury to Sotirios Kyrgiakos.
Both Gerrard (groin) and Torres (muscle) have failed to recover from knocks sustained on international duty, but both may return for our midweek Champions League clash with Lyon.

Kyrgiakos, meanwhile, limped out of Greece's World Cup qualifier in midweek, and initial press reports suggested he could be out for several months. However, Benitez expects the centre back to be available within a week to ten days.

The boss told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Both Steven and Fernando still have some problems. They will need more time and won't be available this weekend. I think they could be available for next week.

"With Kyrgiakos we were really worried because people were talking about maybe six months, but after the scan we think one week to ten days. That's very positive."

There was also better news on Dirk Kuyt after his injury scare during the international break.

"Kuyt is okay. He was training normally with the team and will be available," added Benitez.

South American trio Javier Mascherano, Emiliano Insua and Lucas Leiva have all returned to Merseyside following their long-haul international flights over the past week. All three are available for the clash at the Stadium of Light.

Sigh. Hope Rafa is willing to give the younger players a run instead of just relying on Voronin. Give Pacheco, Ngog and Babel a chance. I wondered what happened to Pacheco, Phelssis and El Zhar. Don't see them feature as much. Was quite impressed with Plessis 2 season back.

Was watching the Finland-Germany match. Hyypia was the same solid defender. What totally surprised me what that Finland's forward is Jari Litmanen. Remember him from Houllier's side? Always wasted in our team cos Houllier doesn't play him enough. He could have been our Bergkamp. At 38, he's still getting 60-90 mins of Finland's every World Cup qualifying matches. Amazing stuff...

dont worry, bro. i always see the other players turn up the heat whenever the 2 stars are not playing. i m hoping for benayoun and glen johnson to run riot. and i will not be entirely surprised if aurelio grabs a couple of goals or assists tonite.

yes, watched tat match too.. old sami is still as impressive.. esp got an occasion when he brought the ball out of defense with such a elegant style.. we do miss his composure and calmness..

guess rafa will play kyut, babel (or voronin), benayoun and riera... but unsure whether will he play lucas and macherano in CM, cos they came a long long way back from full 90 min WC matches.. always hate international breaks.. it's ridiculous tat denmark played agger for 2 full matches within days (with 2nd match being meaningless), after he missed whole of the season for us... and had just played half a reserve match...

guess might see plessis or spearing play some part, thou personally i hope to see pacheco..

Why not? He could be right
Last season Liverpol had one of their best runs when both Torres and gerrard were out of the side
Hopefully they can begin another great run starting with tonight's game

Pacheco is out on loan and El Zhar has not recovered from his knee injury.
Plessis should be on the bench tonight
