Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

I was quite surprised with the starting line up. I expect to see at least either riera or benayoun start.

Can see after they came on, made a world of difference. On the one hand, rafa-holics can say he made a smart move but rafa-phobics will say he should have started them in the first place (i am a rafa-phobic).

Anyway agree with bros here, in the current situation, a win is a win and gets us 3 points. Its amazing how the league works you know, just a couple of weeks ago Arse was second and touted as serious title contenders whereas we were more or less out of the running. But today, we are just 2 pts behind them (albeit they have one game in hand). Point is they're hardly far from us now. And even more interesting is, at position 5 with 23pts we're nearer to being relegated (Bolton, #18, 12 pts but one game in hand = 11pts difference; West Ham #17, 14pts = 9pts difference) than we are to being champions (chelski, 36pts = 13pts difference). And they say this year's league is the most competitive? Unless ancelotti does a scolari, the title is between them and the hair dryer's shit team.

Good result today. We need the points. Badly
I need an interpreter to understand Jamie's spoken "English"

Even the Dutch Kuyt speaks better English

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

if this was a turning pt season starts here performance...then i wld say think again...the Reds were lucky to get the win...no doubt Liverpool were due the rub of the green after all the bad luck n injuries...n yes a win is a win n i shall gladly take the 3 pts...but let's look at the bigger picture...did the Reds play well n did Rafa get his tacftics rt?...if one were honest u wld hv to answer no to both Qs...

Rafa sld hv kissed Reina's hands n feet after the game...because if not for Reina's superb reflexes that afro haired toffee dude wld hv gotten Everton level in the 60 something min...after that it wld hv been anybody's game...that was the turning pt of the match...the defence save for Reina still looks dodgy...in fact cant understand why Carragher was made MOM when Reina stood out by far...n this 2 man holding midfield clearly does not work...in particular that clueless bozo Lucas...worse still when Rafa was questioned abt why Aquilani was not brought on his ans implied that he favours Lucas because he was talking abt changing either Masch or Gerrad if Aquilani was to be brought on...even an underperforming Gerrad still helped set up the 2nd goal...McManaman & Les were spot on abt Rafa's poor defensive tactics n how things changed when Kuyt was put in the centre wif Yossi n Reira on both sides...why is Rafa so chicken shit...particularly when the defence is already so dodgy?...the Reds need to score goals n when Torres ain't playing n Gerrard is out of form it is clear that the Masch/Lucas combo is not helping matters...

all i can say is that thank goodness Spurs, Villa n Man City do not appear to be consistent...so 4th spot still looks an ok bet...but Rafa has got to get past his stubborness n get the Reds attacking...stop being chicken shit n start giving Aquilani proper playing time...dont make this another Keane/Babel mismanagement case...also he has gotta to plug the defence...Reds cant be relying on Reina to pull off miracles all the time...

it's abt time for us to enjoy some luck...

can't believe the press and commentators are saying tat we're lucky with a deflected gol, a double save by reina, 2 disallowed everton gols...bla bla bla.... clearly they chose to forget tat beach ball gol! and everton was kept in the game by howard's equally stunning save from insua header.. and also nobody mentioned tat we're denied a clear penalty AGAIN, when distin jumped onto lucas when he was clear on goal...

I dont know and don't want to know why many are in favour of LUCAS. To me, he is hopeless (can't kick well, can't score, too feeble that be pushed aside easily and worst he is running around pushing balls with no aim ]

Imagine Rafa replacing SG or Masch instead of LUCAS I strongly believe that LUCAS has places some Brazilian kong tao upon Rafa.

2 me,luck is an important element in all matches.
i wouldn't mind seeing The Reds play lousy every game, but still get the 3 pts @ the end of each game.

As the saying goes, ball is round, anything can happen.
If the team played some nice football, then there's entertainment for everybody

I sure love to see Liverpool play pretty football and win at the same time...

Yes we were damn lucky to win on Sunday..
There are still problems in the team...

Ngog did quite ok as a lone striker but his passing is woeful at times and he tried to do too much... Afterall, he is no Torres...

Gerrard was in the team? Well give him benefit of the doubt, he was just back from injuries...

Reina was great.. His double save is really world class...

In short, a win is a win...

2 games, 2 victories and 2 clean sheet, hope is breed the winning confidence in the players...
We have to step up and now is the best time to do so...

Blackburn next, lets see if Torres can come back and we improve even further!

PS. how come i ganna negative point now? haha!

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Right now 3 pts is the most important to the club now.
Next game against Blackburn will really test the players' mindset & see really how the season will go on from there.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

this Lucas really CMI man...save for the Manure match...Lucas has been absolutely useless this season...everytime i see him touch the ball i groan n sigh...as for Rafa...i guess he is just being his usual stubborn old self...sticking to playing certain players regardless of their quality...damn bloody frustrating to watch...

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

this one i agree wif u...i was initially not impressed by Ngog...but i think he has grown in the last few games...started when he scored agst Manure...the lad is getting stronger, showing more technical ability n gaining in confidence...one thing though...i think he sld try n not get too carried away wif his dribbling tricks which tend to backfire...he sld just keep it simple wif a few touches n make use of his speed n keep firing on goal at any given opportunity...
