A few airlines offer direct flights from Singapore to HCM City. Garuda, Tiger Air, Singapore Airlines, Vietnam Air all offer direct flights. Garuda is at $198 w/o tax for 1 week ticket. Tiger Air will be over S$300 for last minute booking. I take Garuda most of the time, daily flights. Ticket can be bought at Garuda Office at United Square Office Block 12th Floor.

i stayed in novotel a couple of times and they are girls unfriendly alright. die die ask me to book a room then allow the girl to go up. and dont even accept my suggestion of US$50 coffee money.

For those who want some enjoyable in HCM.
Whether it is your business trip or not.
I would suggest look into the thread and get to know
some low star or no star hotel venue.
I think most of the people can afford USD15 per day/night.
It is not wise to bring your girl back to your 3 stars and higher hotel.

I have some members asking me to help them to talk to their 3/4/5 stars
hotel management so can bring their viet girl there free of charge.
Kindly do not mail me this type of request which I will not entertain.

If the Hotel Staff ask you to book an extra room for the gal, it means that they are gal friendly. Its a normal practise in Vietnam to book an extra room for the local gal. The security will also show the gal the room.

The law in Vietnam suggests that no single lady or man should stay in the same room overnight. So the hotel is just making sure that nothing goes wrong. In an event when the Police comes and check on the hotel, the staff will call you in your room and ask the gal to proceed to her EXTRA room.

If any bros want to bring gal back to these hotel, don't be stingy. Just pay for these extra charge and your gal will be able to enter your room for the night.

In any case if you think that the cost is too high, just bring the gal to any normal hotel at US$15 a night. These normal hotels are normally below 3 stars and are plentyful throughout HCM City.

I used to stay near to the site. The whole piece of land there are reclaimed. The same street's bridge has collasped some years ago and has taken a few life. I used to want to buy a unit at the 40 storey development , The Manor, which is situated just opposite Saigon Pearl. But i was advised by the locals about the state of the reclaimed land and the possibility of the condo unit's value rising in the next few years. Vietnamese still prefer landed property, Condos are not their piece of cake.

Just my 2 cents worth.

hMM they dun like to buy condo? My gf just bought a unit at this saigin pearl and she show me the website, and will only be ready in 2007 anyway. Paid USD 220k for that 3 bedroom unit. Man, i must go down and take a look when it begins building.

I guess condo is more for expats and foreigners. You are rite, landed is more prefered by them. Hope the value goes up more. :P
