actually vt is nothing except is the nearest beach from hcm.but the wave bigger than our east coast one lah.food sucks and expensive there.i went by the speed boat before and find that is boring, nothing much and expensive.prefer taking a coach there, which pass by those villages and can see the scenary and i think only half an hour more than speed boat.
wow your description seem good at the vin pearl, should try next time.i also go those boat ride to those different island, first island is i think those eco island, nothing much except a house and place for ppl to picnic,2nd is to a island for ppl to play sea sport, this to a island with a big fish creature museum(nothing much).worst part is our boat was serve super cold meal for lunch.everything is cold but no choice have to eat.even their own ppl complain, next time not going to try those package.
best place to go is the mud spa

lol. but singapore very hard for business to make it..
i started so many business for the past 5years, except for the first one that is feeding me, every other business cannot make it
i think the big market is still in developing markets like vietnam, china etc
There are some truths to your statement as i used to think that Singapore is only for Big Business Corporations with huge funds. I know of a fellow Singaporean, who is as entrepreneur as you, started many businesses for the past many years, but all failed. But if you take a close look, business needs planning and all his businesses failed because he failed to do that. He likes to go into `Fade ' businesses, for example bubble tea, medicure , pedicure etc, as he thinks these businesses can earn him money due to its popularity. At the same time, he believes that these businesses has proven itself to be money spinning, thus the risks he's taking is so much lesser. But by the time he goes into these businesses, these businesses are fading out, on its down trend.
Business is about taking risk, some risks can be managed while others cannot. There are still some businesses that can be done in singapore, but one needs to know how to manage risk and do proper planning. In Singapore, we know the culture, language , rules etc, thus we are at an advantage. Vietnam is a huge market and is developing, but its not as simple as most Singaporeans think it is. I mentioned before about the government red tapes, different culture, languages etc, all these will prove to be tough for a normal Singaporean with limited resources. For example, i know of a company that deals with construction machinaries for rental / leasing. It went into VN, thinking that its a big market. After 3 years there, it closed down. One of the biggest hurdle is the culture there which the company cannot handle. For example, they leased a huge machinary to a local construction company, but after some months, the local company refused to pay them and even tore down the machines into spare parts, refusing to return it back to them. They reported it to VN police, but the police cannot do anything. After 3 years there and losing 3 Million USD, close door.
In a foreign land, we are at a disadvantage. If our businesses face problems, its difficult to solve unless we are well connected at government level. In VN now, big businesses with huge capital are making big bucks, but small businesses are often crowded out. This is the same situation as in Singapore. But there are often still some areas that can be tapped, just like Singapore. We just need to know the place well, be connected and have lots of patience.

bro,is understanding your vietnamese life partner more though than understanding how to do businese there
i think both is almost the same.I agree with u. planning and foresight of the market is important over there.not simply just throw money and think going to a poor country will make it.connection is a yes yes over there but sg ppl is too organise to follow rules and regulation,so when venture there, find it tough.
thats why most small sg SME prefer to follow govertment organisation to explore business opportunity there as they will get most help if things go wrong over there.

From my limited knowledge, a piece of normal land in the deep part of the province is already going for around US$15000, around 4m x 20m.
many factors to determine the price of land in the village of a province.
1)whats the land use rights e.g padi field, fruits, house etc
2)distance from the ferry service
3)any bridges near the land
4)condition of the road
US $15k is abt 320 million vnd.....320 million vnd for a piece of land 4m x 20m at the deep part of province is quite expensive unless the location is really superb and the land is for housing purpose.
below is my personal experience.
at the mid of last year i bought 2 pieces of land at the village in Vinh Long.the village is abt 35 mins ride from Vinh Long's city.
1)padi field land of 10m x 55.6m.
-250 million vnd
-land by the main road
-1 min ride to ferry service
-1 min ride to village's market
2)land for all kind of usage of 7m x 42.5m(end side of the land with 6m only)
-400 million vnd
-land by main road
-1 min walk to ferry service
-1 min walk to village's market
-1 min walk to ferry service
Guess we can form a business group to see how we can help each other.
hahahah i second that.
how to form such biz group lol.... invest in singapore or vietnam?
