Last night EZ and me decided to check out the “new” KTV joint at the old Sports Stadium (not the new one built for the Provincial Game) next to Jin Ding Hotel and actually under the management of the JD hotel. Luckily, we booked ahead since the locals have also got on the Christmas party mood and we heard all rooms were fully booked last night. Didn’t ask how many rooms, but the complex is like the size of XinTianDi and I heard some of the rooms are still under renovation. The hardwares are acceptable – pretty standard, comparable to the old Jiayi. We had a mid-size room that can easily sit 20 and the minimum charge of 688. Being a cheap Ah-Pek and since we were going to drink the red wine like locals, I asked for the cheapest deal. That was Great Wall Red of 188 (with mixer) per pack, with a buy 2 1free deal.
It's been a year or so since I visited Jin Ding KTV. Great to hear an update on this place. KTV room is pretty decent. Spending wise very similiar to CP KTV pricing.

Simply love Danshui Saunas! Really miss those ¥168-198 one shot Sauna deals. Haha.

Juz came back from Danshui to CP. Had 2 sauna gals for a session at total of RMB400 for 2 shots. Look department 7-8/10. Service wise oso very good attitude & very obliging. Try other sauna that has RMB188/shot but the gals all cmi.
Compare CP vs Danshui, feels the place the gals more friendly and laid back. It's like CP 5 years ago!
We oso went to seaside to try the seafood lunch. Very fresh and prices wise slightly cheaper than CP.
Looking forward to Danshui trip again next China trip!

Can, but have to prove you are poor ah pek first.
HZ will not increase the price for at least 2-3 years till the CP-HZ mrt line begins. Actually the price in CP shoot up, mainly because a lot of foreigners cheong there. As long not so much foreigners cheong in HZ, the price will maintain the same for a few years.
First - Actually the locals in HZ is quite rich, as the main income is from manufacturing industry. I don't know how much is their salary but they got no problem to cheong ktv. Second - the local and foreigner cheonging style is different. For foreigner, they will split the bill evenly after the ktv session and pay thier own gals individually. For local, one person will pay all the bill including the gal sitting fee. Three - hz local seldom bring back gals for O/N. This is because they need to report home, not like foreigners who stay in hotel. Normally they bring ktv gals for short time; or go to sauna after ktv session.
Bro Huzige... never fail to go to CP/HZ/DS for the festive season hur.... while I am stuck in my USA kampung...
Hey bro PF, you forgot, I’m a Chinaman and so must spend quality time in my China kampong with my families for the festive season mah! In fact, when I first started to spend Christmas in China in the early 90s, most of my friends thought I was “qi-xin” or crazy. But now, some of these friends are doing the same thing!
Talking about Christmas, ErZi & me did a quick survey – non of the MMs in our room that night know what Christmas is all about – except the innocent looking DJ, newly arrived from Fujian. I was impressed when she went on to tell the story of Jesus to other MMs – and she later confessed that she came from a Christian family and was planning to go to the local Church the next morning! And the locals have also started one new practice – they give each other apples on Christmas Eve – you know “苹果” rhymes with “平” in “平安夜” – who said Chinese are not innovative.
I’m heading to CP today, and then to Guangzhou for the countdown to the New Year. I was planning to head north after that, but managed to convince my Chinese business associates to meet me in the warmer south.
Enjoy your break and I hope to catch you and other bros, including SBX & PTR in the new year!

I will be back in Asia on Jan 3rd and that when the action start.... but I can foresee myself busy till the 1st half of this year.. don't think I even have chance to have 24-48 hour window... PA had fill my itinerary even on weekend till March !!!! Nevertheless, I will try to organize lunch during Chinese New Year say like the 3rd day or the 4th day.
With all the comments about increasing prices in CP, I am glad that ErZi and me decided to spend our Christmas Eve in DS. But DS is also not immune to “inflation” although at much slower rate – perhaps it has not seen the type of demand created by increasing tourists like they have in CP, where you now see literally bus loads of tourists arriving on guided tours. There are still many 1-4-7 places, but my favourite joints are now 2-5-8. And unlike CP, the MMs at KTVs in DS arrive around 7:30pm and some even later at 8.00pm.

The MMs are 2-5-8 and 3-6-9 cats – the later being the taller MMs, with the look department of 6~8 (although one man’s meat can be another man’s poison.) We didn’t see too many line-ups since EZ managed to pick 2 and I pick 3 even though we only allowed non-smokers in for the line-up. All MMs are sporting and no problem with attitude. All stayed until we settled the total bill of 890Yuan at 1:00am, and a 200 tips for the hard working and friendly DJ. (Please PM me for contact to book room if you are interested.)
As for the Guangxi MM I dabao, she is one of the better ones, if not the best one I met this year – and that’s saying a lot from an old AhPek. I decided to pick her over the taller girl (my old friends will know my preference) even though she is a petite SYT because she is cheerful and cheeky – and she is going home today. She has little make-up and looks like my neighbor’s poly-tech attending daughter. She proved me right by giving such a memorable performance in bed that I called her a XiaoLaJiao – she said her aim is to make sure I remember her! I must confess it has been a long time since this kampong Ah-Pek has such a wonderful Christmas present. Unfortunately, she has to get on her bus trip this morning to head home to attend her brother’s wedding.

sound interesting ... mind sharing the contact for DS ? Will check it out next week when I am there. :P

Bro bigboobman, from my observations and what I heard, every thing seems to have return to normalcy in DS. I have only checked out SNs that I’ve previously visited or with friends, but I know friends who walked into other SNs without any notice and were entertained like they used to.
However, it seems to be normal practice in DS these days for SNs to offer discount if you call up to pre-book room before arrival. So, it will be good to get the contact of one of the managers to get the discount for return visit, or share the ctc with bros.
After ErZi left me alone in DS, I decided to spend some time on KC activities, and it means I went with my MM to revisit a couple of pub-type joints in the town centre area that are more like disco joints – with DJs spinning loud music, alternating with singers and dancers doing rather tame sexy dances. They also have private KTV rooms. Most patrons seem to bring their own MMs but there are groups of MMs on their own and you can use your charms to get to know them. And of course the dancers are usually friendly to the handsome and apparently rich. The two that I revisited are:
1. In Pub, a popular joint located on the top floor of the Time Square (corner of Nanmen Zhong Lu & Nanmen Xi Jie) – you can take the bubble lift next to the KFC in the same building to the top floor and walk across the roof-top, or find its main entrance that is actually off Nanmen Xi Jie at the back side of Time Square. The crowd here is younger and more trendy, but the drinks also slightly more expensive than other similar joints.
2. Kailung Club on KaiCheng Street, diagonally opposite RenRen SuperMart – but you need to look for its entrance with the stairs leading to the pub upstairs. Although the interior looks more tired than In Pub, I actually like this one better since it has a more mixed crowd and cheaper drinks (from memory, the Tsingtao beer is 5yuan less per bottle than InPub). This joint is actually under the same management of Metropolitan Hotel and TaoYuan Bai Yun San Juan Hotel – both have popular SNs.
I also noticed that:
1. The previously popular Hi-Chang, JingJie on KaiCheng Road has reinvented itself as a family KTV.
2. The buses (0700-2200hrs??) from DanShui’s Flower Street to Lowu are now going via the new coastal highway, exiting at Ao-tou tollgate rather than the DS tollgate via the ShenShan Highway. It also allow drop off opposite the Huiyang Bus Terminal at the roundabout-flyover with the new route. Ticket is 40yuan one way.

Bro PF, I would suggest you change your PA – one that will at least give you some breathing space and time for bros. Unfortunately, I will be away for an extended period over CNY that will include a planned trip to northern China till early March. But if you hire me as your PA, I will make sure you have many “cheong windows” to play while working hard.
