yup i tried by the road side stall and the hotel i stayed. nice coffee. left HCM 2 days ago and already missing the coffee. the bellboy offered to help me buy but i said dun need, i will go buy myself.

thats the prob. Viet coffee is meant to be drunk very very strong.

If you are using the coffee plunger machine, you would have to put maybe about 3-5 tbl spoons, and only about half water. You would have to let it sit for at least 3-5 mins...

The steps I describe in my earlier post is for the "metal container" otherwise know as "coffee filter" here in VN.

If you using those machines that require filter paper, try using 2 pieces and maybe less water.

I guess it all boils down to trial and error as to finding the right propotions of water to powder to make the coffee suitable to you. For me, i drink my coffee very very strong.

i have tried them. the Lien An hotel girls are no good. they said they dun do BJ? the one i got was kinda of young and i had to do all the hard work myself for she seemed like she did not know anything

i just tried making coffee again before see-ing this post that u have posted. I put in the normal coffeepowder like we do in singapore and the taste isnt there.. i really seem to have to trial and error more!

You have to use the metal container they give you to use as a filter for the coffee. You cannot make it like Nescafe..

2. Use the "plunger" and press down into the coffee powder to pack in tight. (not to tight if not, water wont flow out)

3. Slowly pour hot water into the filter bit bit till you just cover the coffee powder. This is to "hardern" the powder to make it into cake-like.

4. next, place the "plunger" back and pour till about 3/4 fulls and wait for the water to filter through.

The coffee should be dripping out of hte base of the filter like a leaking tap. You have the right consistency.

Never ever try girls which the bellboy recomend to you. Why??

1. They are very very average looking.

Someone already did that....It is was on sale during the food fare at the expo few months ago...even the G7 cuppocino is on sale but the difference in price is almost double and I compare the 2 packing bet. local and vn one...local one have chinese and english printing while vn one only have vietnamese words...

And yes, the restangle one do taste better and stronger...the aroma also will spread thru out the whole room...

Quite a few vietnamese who love coffee tell me that there is a difference in taste when u use aluminium coffee maker compare with those stainless steel one...to them the aluminium one tast better....

To me...I dont think there is much difference as I put 4-5 teaspoon into the coffee maker and the thickness already cover that ba...but there I do feel a difference when i use modern electric coffee maker and the taste was way far...
