Just touchdown Wuxi last night and is staying in Milido Hotel 美丽都大酒店 along 梁锡路。neon lights showing that this is the 酒吧街. but pubs look like a ghost town, almost no body in these pubs!
Couple of BBS along the road, quite a number of MM in each when i was on the way to check in hotel (around 7:30pm). So after check-in, bath n makan. it was almost 9pm. Started my stroll along the roads to these BBS and OMG, only max 2 gals in there, most of them closing or closed... WTF. Looks like gotta venture into hotel masseurs.. anybody can advise the nominal rates?

Nearby Sheraton Hotel (middle of town area) are some shopping complexes. there are several KTVs & niteclubs there too. I cant remember the name of the building nor club, all I can remember is it is on the 5th floor. It has disco section, KTV section, live performance section. I usually hang at the live performance section, where the singers sing in the middle of the pub like 演唱会。they oso have dance performance. the bar counter surrounds the stage, the gals inside the bar counter can drink, chat & play dice with you. It is 1 of the most popular club there. there is also a disco somewhere behind this niteclub, very popular among the locals, but it's nothing much. along a stretch of a street in town, there's several bars (like Boat Quay type), there's oso nothing much. But there was once when I was with my superiors (a lady & a guy, they're Shanghainese, it was my female superior who brought us there), wanting to have a relaxing chat over some beer. suddenly, a gal came to sit beside me, and asked me if she can sit beside me! I was shocked & not prepared for this, especially when I have a female superior present! so I told the gal firmly straight in the face, "no, we are having some discussion!" my superiors also didnt expect that, but not as shocked as me. cos there is a lady in our group, we gotta respect her presence. maybe the FL thot she is oso a FL from somewhere else. they just lighten up the situation by saying, "哇，你看，你多帅！" when paying the bill, there was some discrepancy over the price in the menu & price on the bill. after some questioning & answering, the manager or boss of the pub apologised, saying it was their failure to update the menu accurately. you know these China folks, now they got 面子, they happy liao. cant remember the outcome, whether the final bill was in our favour or the pub's favour, but i remember the discrepancy was over 3 Y per bottle of beer, and each bottle was ard 20 Y or lesser. beware of 1 thing: if anyone approach you on the streets, ask you if u wanna find lady services, dun ever follow them! more than half the chance, you will be over charged like shit! it's the same everywhere in China. I remember there was once, I was taking a casual walk alone, along the street towards Sheraton area. Suddenly, a man came up to ask me, "找小姐吗？1百块而已！". I followed him, it was quite a distance, to a stretch where there were several bars & little karaokes (like boat quay style) around. I been into 1 of the pubs there b4. it is near 新雅酒店 & 海阔天空 area, but (abit far) behind 新雅酒店 side. He brought me to a KTV, then the KTV people took over the "service". the mummy tried hard to anyhow give me a gal. i didnt wanna anyhow accept trash (quite a fat gal), she didnt even get a bunch or a row of gals for me to choose. finally, she used her hp to call a few gals. after some time, a gal came in. she looks acceptable, so i took her. it was around after half hour of singing drinking, a little of "molesting" her, when i tried to stretch my hand into her blouse, she suggested why not bring her out, we go to my hotel room for full service. I said ok. she said she go get changed, while I can settle the bill for the KTV. then she asked me for the tips in the KTV, I gave her 100Y, she said it's 200Y. I told her the manager told me it's 100Y, she said this club's rate is 200Y. ok, never mind, since her service till now is ok, I gave her 200Y. then she left the room, and the staff came in with the bill. the bill was almost 2k RMB!!! I checked the details, I was also charged for the unopened beers, the tea was around 60Y or 80Y, the mamasan service for calling the gal was 600Y !!! they said it's cos they had to call the gal from elsewhere, and that is the price. then the room charge, tidbits charge, fruits charge, etc. I disputed about the unopened beers, the fruits & tidbits I didnt touch, etc. so I managed to reduce the bill by a few hundred RMB. then there was only about 400Y in my wallet. I gave them my credit card. They said they dun accept credit cards, all entertainment establishments oso dun accept credit cards. they saw my BOC ATM card, and told me to go to the ATM to withdraw cash. 1 of them is following me, while another said he will also go along. I told them, I wanted the 发票 for the expenses. they then told me entertainment establishments in this city dun issue 发票. I didnt wanna argue too much, but when i was near the ATM along the road, I told them, no 发票, I'm not going to make payment. I'll pay according to how much 发票 I get. they said they really dun have, and I cant 消费 w/o paying. So I called 110 with my handphone, and asked the police if entertainment establishments have 发票 to issue. I am at this KTV, the personnel says they dun have 发票，and I'm not paying the bill until I get the 发票。Pls send your policemen over here. I think the 2 guys were taken by shock, then 1 of them said he'll go get the 发票。I then told them I oso dun believe my bill should be this much. then they said I can't 消费 w/o paying. I said yes, I need to pay, but not this price. Your colleague approached me on the street and told me it's only 100Y. You want, you go ask your colleague for it. After some bargaining, we compromised that my bill be 300Y !!! cos in a not-so-big KTV in Shanghai, that was the package for small room (I cheong 1 person alone in that KTV b4), 6 cans of beer & a small fruit platter. They tried to ask ask some more for tips for mamasan & the gal, I said I oredi tipped the gal. mamasan? this type of "service" and still ask for tips? I said, I'm willing to pay only 300Y, either take it, or wait for the police to arrive. they took the 300Y, and then wanted to ask for some more. I flagged for a taxi and said, cut the crap, either you take the 300Y and case closed, or return me the 300Y, wait for the police to come decide the final amount. I will pay whatever amount the police says. I am certain they will not let go of whatever cash in their hands. So I dun care, get up the cab & went back to hotel. Last year this time, I was walking along the bar street in SuZhou with a group of frens when I saw the tout again. He looked familiar to me, but when he saw me, he quickened his foot steps & walked away from me. When I remembered him, he was oredi quite a distance away. Then I told my frens about this guy. They said it's possible, since 无锡 & 苏州 are in the same province & v near by train. anyway, hope the above info helps abit, but prices may not be accurate anymore, since it was 2 years since I was there.
