Doing it blind without the visuals is abit turn off but bobian

are there really hidden cameras in sg hotels especially the low budget ones where they don’t have as much reputation as the high class ones like MBS?

So far I have not seen any leaked footage of hotel leaks in SG, but that's doesn't mean there isn't. It's good to do a check on possible common spy cam gadgets like smoke detectors, led clock display, air refresherners sprays, or even sockets and screw holes and Anywhere where there might be holes. Check the mirrors if it's a normal 1 way or 2 way mirrors.

Your girlfriend method of switching off the lights actually not much use as many spy camera have night vision lense, so dark can also see very clearly.

Go Netflix and watch the documentary series Spycraft. Although the series is about how spy agencies go about doing their work..... it is goldmine of information on the various surveillance techniques employed and the gadgets the spies use. Quite interesting how they keep coming up with new methods and advanced technology to spy on their targets.
The documentary shows you the 101 areas inside the room which can be compromised and how counter-surveillance teams sweep the rooms and make them "safe".

Really hate it when they say they want the lights off. I'm a visual kind of guy so lights on always is a plus. The only reason why they want lights off is because they are not confident in their physical appearance/body.
