Medical examination questions.
I am to take up employment in large company in 1st Sept.
It required that I am to undergo physical checkup. As you are aware, most companies dont ask employees to undergo checkup. Thus, I ask you the questions: will physcial checkup by company doctor will reveal something ( I visit WLs and FLs)? When filling questionaires like ''do you engage in sexual activities?" , should I put yes or no? If put yes, what happens? If put no, I would be exposed thru checkup?

But usually, for such pre-employment medical check-ups as most of us who hav gone thru' it know, are usually quite simple ones ..the doctor just scoping yr chest, checking yr throat & taking yr blood pressure...u wil be asked to give a urine specimen...there is no removal of any clothes frm the waist down But understand for the guys there may oso be a quick genital examination...so if u hav engaged in sexual activities wif FLs etc & if there is a infection of some kind tats shows on yr private parts, & unless it is very minor, the doctor may be able to pick it up if he is experienced or sharp enuff...however some minor infections like herpes, can't be seen or detected by mere physical examination.. only more serious ones like syphilis or gonorrhea which manifest themselves externally, can be visually seen by the doctor during such checks...a blood test wil hav to be taken to confirm HIV & most types of STD/STI... So though simple as they seem to be, medical check-ups shd always be treated seriously as they may reveal something tat is disadvantages physically to u, if the examination is thorough enuff...e.g. NS medical check-up or medical checks for going overseas for example usually include an examination of the male private part which could reveal any sexual infections or disorders u may hav whether u know it or not.. if u are really worried abt tis, one suggestion is for u to go consult yr own family doctor for a similar check-up first...& if he gives u the green light, then u can go to the company's 1 wif a peace of mind... Contrary to wat u said & if i m not wrong, most companies esp those bigger ones & the civil service would require their new hires, both males & females to undergo such medical check-ups b4 they are allowed to start on the job...those small, small private companies wif only a handful of staff may not be required to appear for such medical checks... Anyway worst comes to the worst, just be prepared to lose the job if they fail yr medical check-up for watever reasons they find during the examination...just my 2 cents worth...wishing u the best of luck in yr forthcoming medical check-up !...maybe u can let us know how it goes after tat...

Re: Medical examination questions.
You're welcome, bro & tks for the upz...
There are many types of mandatory medical examinations tat we go thru in life...like the sch medical checks when we were young in sch, NS one for guys, insurance, pre-poly or pre-university admission, immigration, overseas study, taxi driving etc, etc... the most common of which is the pre-employment medical check which u say u are required to undergo for yr new job....dun know abt u, but for me i find it a hassle & wil try to avoid it if i can...even though tis beneficial & esp if it is free...its an unpleasant experience So for cases like yrs, the moral of the story is ...stay in yr present job for as long as u can, contrary to wat we hav been told...if the working environment is o.k, just continue, dun rock yr own boat...going onto a new job is pretty risky, esp if u dun make it during probation...besides having to go thru' such embarrassing medical check-ups esp for the ladies...for me, i only change jobs if my bosses suddenly turn hostile.. mayb i accidentally step on their toes...

But in a recent case highlighted in yahoo & CNA abt tis pre-employment medical check-up thingy, female air attendants of an indonesian airline alleged tat they had to strip down to only their panties for a male doctor to check their body during their medical examination & had their breasts fondled by him (looks like similar to those NS check-ups for guys)...If true, tis is one of the most invasive check-ups for gals known so far, they having to take off all their clothes to only their underwear left...tis is many times worse than the normal ones we use to go thru'...According to them, it is to check the gals for tattoos on their body & whether they hav breasts implants or not which they say are dangerous when flying..dun know how true tis is and whether the other airlines conduct similar checks.. However believe gals do get their breasts checked during most types of pre-employment medical examinations...Lol, if true, tink most gals shd tink twice b4 changing their jobs to avoid their private parts being seen & fondled by doctors in such an invasive way during these types of mandatory medical examinations...

Most problems in life are complex & need to be explained in more details so tat there is no misunderstanding...Tis wil help lead the head to the tail, so to speak..Hav always like to share my experience wif frens & others so tat pple wil go into something more informed & prepared & won't be caught off-guard..They wil know their rights & wat to expect (the dos & don'ts) & wil not be disadvantaged or easily bullied thru' ignorance...tis medical examination thingy wil affect all of us at least once or twice in our lifetime if not more, so tis good to know wat we are all going in for if we do not yet know... Btw, do recommend all bros/sis reading tis to go for a medical examination at regular intervals e.g. once every 1 or 2 yrs esp those who pass mid-age...tis good to get a reassurance of yr health condition, beta safe than sorry...regarding yr English bro, dun see anything wrong wif it Cheers !! & hav a nice Sunday every1 !
