The incident occurred back in 2017 in Johor, and she had been detained without trial for almost 3 years. The case has raised racial tensions for obvious reasons but unfairly so (common sense indicates she can't have deliberately been out looking for a gang of Malay boys to run over with her car).

The 24 year old Chinese young woman, Miss Sam Ke Ting, says in her defence that the gang of 30 Malay boys were speeding on modified bicycles (without brakes) at 3am, and that they appeared speeding...
