Mother who pushed 9 year old son to his death sentenced to 10 years jail

It was earlier reported that the child struggled and broke free twice, but was eventually pushed to his death. The accused was diagnosed by an Institute of Mental Health (IMH) psychiatric assessment as suffering from post-schizophrenic depression at the time though she was "not of unsound mind" and cleared as fit to plead. She pleaded guilty to the charge of culpable homicide. Her son had suffered from many medical conditions including liver impairments which left him jaundiced and malnourished, and osteoporosis, making his bones brittle. Loh had to give constant care for her son while she lived in a small flat together with her mother who was the sole breadwinner of their family of three yet she still only earned a low income. Loh was unemployed and was struggling financially as well as mentally herself.
