My wife's aunty is in that stage of life too. Her mental load from my view is her young adult son, being a stay at home wife, and looking after her post-op husband.

She got BF and friends/relatives that comes over every weekend to hangout, to relieve her mental stress. Now she hired maid to look after the house, so I think a lot of weight have been lifted.

Hope your wife wants to follow you go on vacation. For at home, hope your wife open minded, can try sleep naked with you first to calm her down.

She saw her gynae and was prescribed hormonal medication. But she didn’t go back for her follow-up visit because she said the medication is too expensive and cannot be sustained over the long term. She did her own research to see how she can manage it herself instead. It’s not easy because there’s a list of symptoms that are related to it but you’re never sure if it’s 100% related.
