In a way,you are being watched.

Besides opposite orientations, and incompatible ways to enjoy the night, we live also on different time zones, with few hours of overlap. I keep my original time zone, so I have no problem of jet lag when I go back home: I go sleep at 5am-7am and I wake up at 12, then I skip breakfast and I go for lunch.

In spite of this, we already skimmed each other on an occasion in Batam.
I remember when we had our rooms at not more than 20m distance in Formosa, with maybe 3-4 rooms between our two. We did not meet, but we exchanged many SMS!

The 500k overnight booking SYT? I am not sure I remember exactly what you refer to, but yes I have a few "top memories" firm in my mind even years after.
If you refer to the SYT working at some joint like Indah2 or MM, who I met at Newton after she ran away from the customer who paid the full rate for overnight, yes she was not expensive (500k) and she was very pretty and young, but she was not a memorable experience. Not an "almost virgin", not a porn star. Just a good one. She remained with me till morning, if I do not remember wrong now. (I should find and read my old report).
Really memorable experiences for 500k are others. For example, 2 or 3 SSYT/schoolgirl types, who I had the chance to meet in Newton with their friends at different times (not all together). And yes, 500k tip was enough. I could not believe to my senses. But these are rare events indeed.

Reason/s is simple :

1. its a stone throw away from NED which i think you may somehow be more familiar with

2. worse case scenario,at least booking joints are within walking distance

3. its a 4 star hotel (given the fact that prices on both hotel were comparable base on Kaha's rate)

(in room bath tub pretty crappy but Goodway has a swimming pool,hehehe..)

But if the making a choice between the 2 hotels comes in my shoe,staying in any of them is no longer a question if i already have an unreliable taxi driver. I can even stay as far as KTM Resort which is at Sekupang area,hehehe...

Just a small note : Standing between Goodway and Gideon is Formosa Hotel,hehehe...

Wherever i am heading to in my trip/s,I prefer the best of both world.
