Things that pisses me off: putting date without day. Example: promotion flyers, adverts, banners that state an event is, say, 25 January 2014, or letters, notices, invitations, appointments that mention a date, say, 12 March 2014.
What do you need to do? Pull out a calender to see what day of the week it is so that you can know whether you are free for that event. If the day is stated, often you will know that you will not be free if it is a weekday ('cos you are working) or if it is a weekend, you will know whether it clashes with your weekend routine or other appointments.
How difficult is it to just add another 3 letters: Mon, Sun etc to the notice?
Another thing that pisses me off: specifying date in numbers. Is 04/08/2013 the fourth of August, or the eighth of April?
