The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said no one was injured in the incident that happened at about 7.30am. A spokesman for SP PowerGrid said that a gas leak was detected at the joint of a low-pressure pipe underground. "The pipe is suspected to have been damaged," a spokesman said. At 2pm, SCDF was still at the scene as a "precautionary measure", a spokesman said. The fire was extinguished with one foam jet. Investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing.
