Serious PAP Little Wings Preschool does not do checks on people it hires, very unsafe

An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:

A former administrative officer was on Wednesday (3 May) fined $12,000 for siphoning money from a PAP Community Foundation (PCF) Little Wings Preschool that she was working in.
Nurul Iman, 24, had misappropriated a total of $12,558 from the Jurong preschool on three occasions between 2014 and 2016. She was sentenced on one charge of criminal breach of trust, with two other similar charges being taken into consideration. Nurul has since made full restitution to the preschool.
Nurul was employed by the preschool in July 2014. As part of her responsibilities as an administrative officer, she was tasked to collect school fees from parents and record them in a book and the centre’s system.
In December 2014, she began misappropriating fees paid in cash. She did not record the payments in either the book or the centre’s system, thus making it seem as if the fees were unpaid, said the prosecution, represented by Deputy Public Prosecutor David Koh.
Nurul spent the money on her living expenses, such as credit card and mobile phone bills, transportation and food.
In a bid to cover up her acts, Nurul refused to call the parents whose payments were not recorded due to her misappropriation, even after being instructed by her superiors.
Her acts came to light in May last year when the Centre Principal did a preliminary audit check on the preschool.
In 2013, Nurul was also convicted of criminal breach of trust for which she received 15 months’ probation.

She could have been jailed for up to seven years and/or fined for her offences.
