u can see it as i cover 4 capital markets, or i have the freedom to choose whatever i wish to trade.

our bonuses are after all, based on how much we make for the firm. being able to go for trades in 4 capital markets makes it easier to hit our targets.

Seems like the MO have changed, covering 4 cap mkt I guess is a double edge sword in itself, are you spot or option? Head hunted?

i work for a private firm, so every trader has different obligations.

mine is just to handle a certain AUM, thats about it.

very relax/flexi.

yea, I was in spot. retired and moving on my own now. Been a very nice year, lots of liquidity and events and we not even done yet.

How did you get started?

Arent all traders quant these days, or replaced by algos in one way or another? Is there space for spot guys anymore? I was under the impression that you get one IT/maths geek to control the algos, when shit gets hairy, chief steps in.

alot run on algos, but algos can crash. not sure if u are aware of the recent ETH/USD flash, just last week ago.

i am one of the few spot traders in the firm. one of the only 3 in fact. all 3 of us are actually given very flexi KPIs. the algo traders actually take the bulk of the AUM/workload.

aiya, quite the norm these days, those flash crash. I met some shark programmers, is impressive stuff, but at the end of day, I think it will doom the markets. What to do, want cheap, want fresh.. pay peanut get monkey.

i am just in my first year in a private firm, prev in banks.

so 8 digit, idk. i want a little more time and less stress anyway, so.
