Request for advise regarding Herpes
One of my friend divorced twice, planning to get married to Vietnamese. He is having Herpes. He has not told about Herpes to his Vietnamese GF.
1) Should he tell about Herpes to her? 2) Any potential issues of having Herpes and spreading to her? 3) What is your advise? Thanks |

Re: Request for advise regarding Herpes
Best to inform her. Herpes is very common and easily treated with viral cream.

Re: Request for advise regarding Herpes
Isn’t it depends if is hsv 1 or 2? I read that most adults have hsv1 and they are mostly contracted as a child?

The majority of those with Herpes never have any symptoms so they don't know they are infected. I would suggest he take her to get tested.

https://www.herpes.org.nz/patient-info/myths-vs-facts/ Herpes myths vs facts Myth: Only certain sorts of people get herpes. Fact: No, it is very common and anyone who has ever had sex can get genital herpes. It's not about being clean, dirty, good or bad – it's about being normal and sexually active. Myth: Herpes isn't that common and I am unlikely to get it. Fact: Herpes is very common and may be caused by both herpes simplex type 1 and herpes simplex type 2 (HSV-1 or HSV-2). HSV-1 causes "cold sores" on the mouth, and up to 80% of the population has this virus. However, HSV-1 may also be transmitted to the genitals through oral/genital sex and about 40% of genital herpes is caused by HSV-1. Up to 22% of sexually active adults have genital herpes caused by HSV-2. Most people with herpes will not have symptoms and therefore will not be aware they have it. 50% of people getting herpes get it from partners who are unaware they have it. Myth: Herpes "cold sores" on the mouth are not the same as genital herpes. Fact: Cold sores on the mouth or face are caused by HSV-1 and are commonly transmitted to the genitals (causing genital herpes) through oral to genital sex. Up to 40% of genital herpes is caused by HSV-1. https://www.aad.org/public/diseases/...herpes-simplex HERPES SIMPLEX: OVERVIEW Herpes simplex is a common viral infection. If you’ve ever had a cold sore or fever blister, you picked up the herpes simplex virus. Most cold sores are caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). Other names for cold sores caused by HSV-1 are: A closely related herpes simplex virus, HSV-2, causes most cases of genital herpes. But either HSV-1 or HSV-2 can cause a herpes sore on the face or genitals.
