Well there is no medical background/fact of any complication arise from having sex with a gal on her menses period. Its kinda like how you look at it? When the gal having flow of menses meaning her uterus wall lining which have been building up over 26-28 days is broken down and turn to menses (bloody ooze). The acidic level of the vagina will be lower and hence sperm is more likely to be kill before they can reach HOME RUN! Anyway, different women will have different conditions. They will knows best about themselves.

Well, I was told that during the gal period and the 1st 5 days after period is safe, mean gal wouldn't get pregnant. But will have side effect to the guy when the blood touch the penis, I mean without condom....

all right I did tried before and i am still fine but i understand from some guys that the gal's blood is dirty during period (like her body is throwing out rubbish right?), so not advisable to get it on your penis. In Chinese social practices, menses is considered "dirty" ... it's even taboo for women to step into temples during their menses, dunno about churches though. So, it's only natural for grandmothers to come up with such "crap talks" ... to keep their own sons & grandsons from getting "bad luck".
